switched to a new mask

Post by TylerJH » Tue Aug 16, 2016 5:32 pm

I was wearing a nasal mask but once the pressure got to it's peak my mouth wouldn't stay closed, even while wearing a strap. Stopped by the clinic and now I'm gonna try the Respironics Amara View face mask. I like how it doesn't go over the nose because over time my ability to breath through my nose has diminished and now I won't feel smothered or like I'm suffocating.

Anybody have experience with the Amara View?

I have been using this mask since last December, and am very pleased with it. I do wear a soft cervical collar when sleeping in order to keep my mouth closed which really cuts down on dry mouth problems when sleeping. I also use a mask liner with the mask. Pad A Cheek has come up with one for this mask, but I have never tried it. I made my own from an old well-used tee shirt. I just traced around the mask cushion to get the size and shape of the liner.

I'll look into getting a collar, never thought of that
