I ended up buying my new S9 AutoSet with H5i bundle from CPAP.com. Thanks to whomever suggested that I ask for a price match. I got it for $470.00 delivered (overnight!) to my door.
Spent about 15 minutes with the clinical manual and set my thresholds and preferences - EPR 3 durning ramp, starting 7.0, range 8.0 to 14.0. SmartStart engaged. H5i side is hooked up, but I am not needing humidifcation until the winter, so, there, but OFF. I use a Mirage Swift nasal pillow mask.
Noticed right away how much gentler the whole experience was than my RemStar M-Series plus from 2002. Less 'exhaust' from the mask and overall much more comfortable waking experience. Woke a couple of times in the night, which is normal.
AHI report in the morning: 0.6
I assume that's good.
I felt a little more well-rested in the AM.
So, overall, glad I got it. And seemingly at a great price.
It's pink - and not a very nice pink - but that's fine. My wife says that women don't need 'pink' things and understands about the Breast Cancer Awareness tie in, but is undone about the 'For Her' positioning - says "do they think we're stupid and can't decide what's best for us?" I agree. Pandering is seldom good.
So, works perfectly and thanks to forum members who steered me in this direction!

First night with ResMed S9 AutoSet (for her)
Re: First night with ResMed S9 AutoSet (for her)
Glad you like the machine and yes AHI of 0.6 is extremely good.
If the pink color gets too annoying there are some skins available to cover it for around $20 and I think that skinit.com will still do a custom skin if you want. Kinda pricey for the custom skin but if that's what someone wants...hey, that's fiine. Skinit.com used to have a wide variety of non customs skins but last I looked they don't offer much except for the custom skin.
The pink is supposed to promote breast cancer awareness but if I remember right when these machines were first introduced a portion of all their sales was donated to breast cancer research. Probably not so much now though but in the beginning it was more than just pandering to women and assuming that we would like that god awful pink color they choice for us women. Even I thought it was a horrid pink.
