So I've been using my Resmed Autoset 10, for approx. a month now. Full face Resmed mask. I check the online report every day (does not tell you that much), but I'm still feeling exhausted, and completely fatigued during the day. Naps are a necessity throughout the day. Some background: I did an at home sleep study, which indicated a lot of hypopnea's, AHI of around 9, Oxy. sat. dropping to low 80%. My sleep doctor is now treating me with the above machine. In addition, my sleep phase cycle is off. Don't fall asleep until 2-3 am, and wake-up, 10-11 am. Avg. hours of machine use is about 7:30hrs. I do take a lot of medication for anxiety and dep.
I just was able to download my data off my SD card into SleepyHead, however, I have no idea what the data means??? I will be contacting my Doctor this week. Thought I would report here though.
If I were to post any of my SleepyHead data/charts, would that help??
Thanks so much!

Gotta start somewhere and the software reports are needed for someone to have any idea as to what might be going on with the therapy.AdamITR wrote: If I were to post any of my SleepyHead data/charts, would that help??
Read this...all 3 pages please

These types of medications are notorious for causing fatigue and daytime drowsiness in addition to messing with sleep architecture.AdamITR wrote: I do take a lot of medication for anxiety and dep.
Exactly what meds are you taking....dosage and time of dose?
Use the software to make sure that therapy is at least optimal...minimal leaks, low AHI, etc
and at the same time do some extensive research on your medications and their side effects.

Pugsy ... you have a PM from me.
Re: 1 Month with Resmed Autoset 10 - Need advice please!
I responded to your private message.
Research those meds as I think they are probably part of the problem..
Your pressure is going wild all over the place...AHI is nice and low...couple of large leaks but they were brief. Flow limitations a bit active but not horrible.
I would try more minimum (current minimum is 5 and looks like it goes up to around 15 or so and all over the place).
Are you sleeping soundly or waking often during the night? If waking often, any idea why?
You can post the link here so others can see what I saw and offer their input.
Only thing I can think of is maybe use a little higher minimum pressure to maybe clean up the flow limitations a bit and maybe reduce the wild fluctuations in pressure just in case the pressure changes themselves are messing with your sleep quality.

Pugsy, TY so much for responding to my P.M.
Yes, I do wake up often, no idea why though ... Meds are Klonopin, Luvox, Trileptal, Vit. D3-5000, Lipitor.
Here are the images of Sleepy Head:

When we wake often during the night our sleep doesn't get a chance to go through the normal sleep cycles that we need for the powers of restorative sleep to work.
We just don't get a chance to have the normal progression through the various sleep cycles.
Figuring out how to fix it...that can be a big problem too. It isn't always so easy to isolate a cause much less fix it.
You might google "sleep maintenance insomnia" and start reading.
In terms of your cpap therapy...the leaks could be playing a part and also the pressure changing throughout the night could be playing a part.
Leaks are something that we always get to fight...so work on those as you can just in case they are playing a part in the wake ups.
The pressure changes maybe playing a part...this is where you probably need to try limiting the pressure range so it doesn't fluctuate so much or even try using a fixed pressure to see if it helps or not.
I sleep quite well through some massive pressure changes but someone else might find that the least little pressure change will cause an arousal...you might be like that and it would be worth probably trying either a very small tight apap range or a fixed pressure to see if it helps or not.
Again..also look at the meds...insomnia often goes along with some of those meds. I know it makes no sense that a med that can cause drowsiness can also cause insomnia but it happens all the time.
