Hi guys,
My brother was recently diagnosed with severe OSA. We are now in the market for a brand new machine for him. His doctor recommends the auto dreamstation while I recommend what I have been using for almost 2 months - the Remstar 560.
Aside from the dreamstation being the newer model, what are the other advantages of the dreamstation over the 560? Is the price difference worth it?
Cheers

Remstar 560 v. Dreamstation Auto
Re: Remstar 560 v. Dreamstation Auto
The DreamStation model is the latest model but the differences between it and the PR S1 models are mainly cosmetic. How it goes about doing its job preventing apneas didn't change.
The heated hose feature is a little more customizable and it might be a little more quiet but those are minor changes.
If there is a substantial price difference...not worth the extra money IMHO.
So some cosmetic changes but how it goes about its job wasn't changed.

Just what I thought too Pugsy. Thanks for confirming it.
Moreover, I just spoke with a local provider here and he himself was honest enough to say that the dreamstation was more of a cosmetic upgrade and that it didn't have anything substantial over the 560 model function wise.

Just as a point of reference but you can pick up a Dreamstration auto for $400-460 on Amazon now which is the same as the PRS1. Surprised me and probably shows sales are not going well for Phillips
