Just got SleepyHead!

Post by Caymangirl » Mon Jul 18, 2016 1:10 pm

When I joined this forum as a recently diagnosed user, I said I wanted to do 3 things
1) learn all I could about sleep apnea
2) start a sleep apnea support group
3) eventually stop using a CPap machine eg recover

Someone pointed out that #3 might be wishful thinking. Be that as it may, I am making progress on #1, today I got Sleepyhead downloaded and was able to look at my data for the past 10 months.

To be honest, when the technician went through the data from the first 6 weeks with me I had no interest, it was Greek to me. Since being on this board I have begun to understand a lot more about the condition.

Sleepyhead is exciting, because I can see my progress, or lack of, or change. It makes me feel more in control of the condition and the machine

I know... it's cool when you first fire up Sleepyhead and realize it kept track of your breathing and apnea events all night long, plus it's all in a colorful, easy to use format. There's a lot of power under the hood (bonnet if you live in the UK), you'll soon discover all kinds of useful tricks as time passes. I certainly hope JediMark comes back and updates it some more!

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

cpap is to your airway as glasses are to your eyes...

it's not something that heals.

When I consider how I used to be compared to how I am 10 months later, if I have to use a CPap for the rest of my life, then I have to use it. No going back now.
