Current Models for Treating Complex Apnea

Post by JIMCHI » Fri Jul 01, 2016 10:57 am

It's time to get a new machine for my complex apnea. As I travel a lot I need the smallest, lightest machine with a heated humidifier. I have found the Resmed AirCurve 10 ASV and it seems to meet my size/weight requirements. I wanted to look at a Respironics machine also but the one online company I contacted said the only machine is the System One BiPap Adapt SV and it is being discontinued. She checked and the Dreamstation machine is not ASV and therefore not suitable for complex apnea. Anyone have any information as to a Respironics machine that is as good or better than the Resmed AirCurve 10 ASV?

No one seems to know when or even if there is going to be a release of a Respironics DreamStation model in the ASV line of machines.

Right now in terms of latest machines...the AirCurve 10 ASV is the only choice so that makes it the best choice.

It would be my choice anyway if I was in the market and I have used both that discontinued PR S1 ASV model 960 and the one model older ResMed S9 Adapt...currently use the ResMed because I like it better than the 960.

Do you have any idea why Respironics has discontinued the System One BiPap Adapt SV, leaving them with no machine to treat complex apnea? Were there problems with it?

I don't know that they have discontinued it.
It's just not available yet in the DreamStation model line.
In the past the ASV models have always been the very last to make a change to the new models and sometimes they even skipped a model...like there was never any M series ASV model.
As far as I know the PR S1 960 is still being produced and sold as the current ASV machine from Respironics.
