Mask change to Amara View

Post by mummmz » Mon Jun 27, 2016 7:25 pm

I went to the DME today and swapped out the Quattro FX medium for the Amara View small. It felt so much more comfortable when I tried it on. I can't wait to use it tonight. I should be able to wear my glasses if needed now too. The Quattro FX was too big and so uncomfortable since I started using it on June 17th. Also, I've been working in the yard a bit the last couple of days and that Quattro FX full face mask has really irritated my sunburn. She asked if I still wanted to try on the Quattro FX small but the Amara View felt so good there was no point in opening the Quattro package. I'm a happy camper.

Amara View is the only FFM that works for me so far. I love that it hasn't set off a panic attack from claustrophobia. Swift FX with Bella loops are my main, but the View is my backup when I am too congested for nasal pillows. It is so nice to have the option of a backup now.

I am happy you found your jam with masks

I slept through the night with the Amara View for a total of 7:24. My AHI is 3.78 for last night, compared to the lowest night of 5.12 with the Quattro FX. I did wake up with more eye swelling than usual but I don't know if it's the mask or a new eye cream I used. I didn't feel any leaks by my eyes. At least the mask doesn't touch the sensitive spots next to my nose right under my eyes.

This is the first time I saw this on the SleepyHead welcome screen: You had an AHI of 3.78, which is considered technically "treated".

How does my daily report look? Is there anything I should do to improve my treatment further? (How do I reduce the size of the image?)

Thanks,
Dani

The bulk of your AHI occurred pretty much right after you started the machine...were you on your back by chance?
If this persists and you are worried about it then a little more minimum pressure should reduce it further but there's no urgent need to do that at this time.

See this thread for some hints on how to do clickable images using imgur.
viewtopic/t103468/Need-help-with-screen-shots.html

Short version..make sure you are logged into you imgur account...then click on the image you wish to show in your post and then from the addresses on the right (box with many addresses) click on Large Thumbnail first...then copy the last line in the box of addresses and you will have a smaller image that we can click on if we need to see more detail.

Then your image will look similar to this size and if we need to see it larger we can click on it

I was on my back before I fell asleep and I was messing around with the new mask. I reset the machine to X1 to match the mask and changed the ramp from 4 to 6.5. I haven't been using ramp for several days but I did last night. So I guess just ignore the beginning. Tonight I won't use ramp at all so it will start at 8. I usually put on the mask and start the machine while I'm sitting up. I'll try waiting until I'm settled on my pillow to start the machine so I don't catch so much ugly stuff at the beginning. I want to see those good AHI numbers too!

Let's see how the large thumbnail works for me.

Thanks,
Dani
