I have a PR system One REMstar 60 series Auto CPAP I purchased back in December of 2013. I bought it mainly as a backup and for travel purposes, so it has never actually seen regular or heavy use. My issue with it is that it doesn't seem to vary my pressure. I have it set for 9-20 and the only setting I have ever noticed is 9. I have followed the instructions for the proper setup and everything in the settings looks good. I have not however, checked the setting history using the stored memory card and software. When I have used the machine, I woke up gasping for oxygen and feeling not very well rested.
My primary machine is my 10 year old PR REMstar Auto C-Flex M-series machine and I can see the settings fluctuate on the screen just by varying my breathing and looking at the screen. I know that isn't very scientific but the best proof it works properly is that I feel great when I wake up every day.
Has anyone else experienced the issue with my machine not auto adjusting per the settings? Obviously, it is out of warranty and I don't have a provider I deal with as I got fed up dealing with insurance and being provided base machines and now buy my equipment online. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: PR system One Remstar 60 doesn't auto adjust
Are you 100% sure it is in 'Auto' mode ('on') vs Cpap?
Re: PR system One Remstar 60 doesn't auto adjust
I have gone through the settings two or three times and set it for auto and then set or verified the low range to be 9 and the top of range to be set at 20. It doesn't seem likely there is a software issue preventing auto adjusting but unless I have lost my senses to do the settings, I think they are correct. I even checked settings once with the card out of the machine because I read that if you don't remove it, the machine will not save the settings. I forgot to mention that one reason I have a renewed interest in this machine is that I am concerned that my main machine may soon fail, and I either need this one to work correctly or need to buy another machine and my favorite M series is no longer available.Julie wrote:Are you 100% sure it is in 'Auto' mode ('on') vs Cpap?

PRs do not respond quickly to changes in breathing patterns. And if you are awake enough to read the screen it may not be changing at all.

Install Sleepyhead software for your PR system one and let's see what's going on. Here, in order, are the three excellent links that graphically show you how to get the correctly sized Sleepyhead images to show up in your CPAPtalk post:

Of course SH won't work with your other machine, a PR M-series. Actually you can find M-series on Craigslist these days, some folks still like them best.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

download and set up sleepyhead, pop the sd card out of the back, and into your computer, read the data, and you'll know more.ScottGA wrote:. maybe your leaks are so bad the machine never can increase pressure. who knows, without data, it's just a guess.
