Apps with Cpap machine
Apps with Cpap machine
I am looking for a new machine. It seems that the dreamstation has an app that works with the iPhone. I am comparing the dreamstation to the resmed which does not appear to have an app associated with it, is this a reason to get the dreamstation over the resmed?

Re: Apps with Cpap machine
The apps don't give you anywhere near the kind of info you get from using Sleepyhead software on your computer.

Re: Apps with Cpap machine
The app only shows extremely limited data.
Like hours of use and if a full efficacy data machine it will show the overall AHI without category breakdown and maybe mask fit. Nice pat on the back verification I suppose but pretty useless if someone is having problems and they are trying to sort them out. Now if someone isn't having any problems and all that want is a "pat on the back you are doing great verification" I suppose it has its place for people like that who are into having an app for everything.
Having an app available would NOT be a determining factor in my machine choice though.
Might be a nice little plus if someone would otherwise be planning on the DreamStation model but it's not a make it or break it deal maker. I would instead target machine choice on features that are important for therapy itself.

Re: Apps with Cpap machine
I can see more information on the DISPLAY of my machine than any app or online portal can currently show.
Sleepyhead shows additional stuff you might need if there are problems.
If there are no problems, then it is the ultimate geek thing for cpap. Enjoy.

The apps is very easy to use and sync very well each time.
However, it only duplicates all the info you can easily see on the screen of the Dreamstation.
In fact the Dreamstation screen provides the info with larger font size vs your phone.
Question to myself
If your DME switch off all the info on your CPAP, can this app helps to get AHI, mask fit etc? (assuming you do not know how to redo the CPAP setup)

Get a copy of the clinician manual and reset it yourself.cpapernewbie wrote:The apps is very easy to use and sync very well each time.
