Re: CPAP Nap?
No. It will show the data.
When sleeping always wear your cpap. Sleep is sleep.

Re: CPAP Nap?
Agreed. As long as you are sleeping, no foul.
Not that wearing the mask to get used to it is a cheat. It is not, technically.
(((You could drop off at any time-- the mask is just insurance.)))

Re: CPAP Nap?
You guys are so good. I only put my mask on about 50% of the time for naps. On the plus side, I hardly nap at all now. In the 6 months before cpap, I needed a nap twice a day (and it would have been much shorter time but for the inanity of sleep study scheduling).

Re: CPAP Nap?
I rarely have time to stop and rest or watch TV during the day, but occasionally on a Saturday I will. If I fall asleep without my mask, it's very miserable when I wake up. Headache, often reflux, just generally feeling yucky.
I love my Dreamwear mask because I can still wear my glasses and watch TV. If I fall asleep with my mask on for a nap, I wake feeling energized and ready to get moving again.

Re: CPAP Nap?
If you take a nap in the afternoon that nap will be noted as a sleep session and it will get counted in the overall hours of sleep and machine use. About the worst thing that might happen is often naps have some ugly AHI numbers because a lot of naps aren't spent totally asleep and we might have a lot of awake/semi awake events get flagged by mistake. This could potentially make the night time AHI higher than it really is. If that should happen there is a way of turning off that sleep session which was a nap so that whatever happened during the night isn't reflected in the overall AHI.
To turn off a sleep session that you want to omit from any sleep hours or AHI numbers just go to the left side of SleepyHead where the statistics are and scroll all the way down to the bottom where you see the sleep sessions and find the one that is the nap and double click on the green/black bar and change it to red/black...that turns off that session and the nap is like it never happened. You can turn the sessions on or off as many times as you might like.

Since you are new.. Any sleep you record on the machine will help with compliance... Depending where you are or what insurance company; you may have to prove compliance so many hours per day usage. I see on another of your posts that youCPAP_DAD6 wrote:If I take a nap with my Bipap during the day , will it mess up my hours/minutes reading for the following evening at all?
AirCurve Vauto
forgot your mask so may need to make up the time lost for compliance.
Since your O2 dropped to 58% if you are like me I would never think of sleeping without the machine. I have to save what brain cells that are left is what I always say!
I wish you well..

Re: CPAP Nap?
I luckily have a 30 day trial before my insurance starts tracking my machine. I'm still trying to use it as much as possible though, but I hate my mask , which I'm swapping on Monday, so hopefully things will improve.Bill44133 wrote:Since you are new.. Re: CPAP Nap?
Yes! I have no air conditioning in my bedroom, and my living room air conditioner doesn't always keep up if it's really hot outside. So with my backup machine at the ready in my end table, I can sleep on the couch when necessary. Also good for naps.palerider wrote:put your spare machine by your tv watcing spotJanknitz wrote:I rarely have time to stop and rest or watch TV during the day, but occasionally on a Saturday I will.
