Sleepyhead Software Windows 7 Unconfirmed Crdownload

Post by catluvr » Thu Jun 09, 2016 8:23 pm

Hi,

I tried finding mention of my problem by searching on "Sleepyhead" in this forum, but haven't found it. When I downloaded Sleepyhead software for both tries, I ended up with a file called "Unconfirmedxxxxxx.crdownload," with xxxxxx being a number. Can anyone advise, before I resort to possibly incurring the wrath of the Sleepyhead bugtracker folk?

Please forgive me if this info is in one of the "getting started" type of pages; I didn't catch that, either.

That's usually an incomplete download. While you're doing a download it has that sort of name, and when the download is totally finished, it will be renamed to the software name that you actually were expecting. For some reason, both times that you tried to download, the download process didn't finish.

Hard to tell why the download didn't complete, though...

Hi. Thanks for your reply about the Unconfirmed... Sleepyhead file meaning the download was incomplete. I just now stumbled onto a Chrome/Downloads page and a Sleepyhead line item that included a "Resume" button, so I clicked "Resume" and actually paid attention and saw a message appearing that the file (Sleepyhead beta . . . Snapshot ??!? ...) is unsafe and has been removed. So much for installing Sleepyhead, I suppose. I'm pretty much ready to give up on this CPAP thing anyway. It's been one long two weeks.

If your downloading from a link suggested by the members here, most likely, it is safe to download.

Best to turn off your anti-virus for the meantime, as your app may be flagging it as a virus or something.

As to the long file name, the earlier post is correct. Usually, that's a sign that the file was incompletely downloaded.

You can simply try downloading it again and give it a go once more. Try also using another PC or laptop. It might help.

Anti-virus programs are limited; therefore programs from small sources are often rejected,
for no other reason than that they do not hail from a major player.

That's true too.

OK, so this time I disabled Norton Auto-protect, which let me download SleepyHead just fine. Then I RE-ENABLED Norton and immediately saw a message from Norton: "AutoProtect is processing Security Risk Trojan Gen 2." Now I'm concerned about *installing* the Sleepyhead exe file I downloaded, because apparently Norton found a trojan inside the download, unless I'm misinterpreting the message.

Also concerned about removing the SD card to read my data -- I don't want its removal to interfere with the DME provider's receiving my compliance data.

Is the way the data relay works is the data goes *onto the SD card* and in turn is relayed wirelessly to the DME provider?

Or are data-->SD card and data --> DME provider two independent actions?

And you wonder why I don't sleep.

Yes, Norton gets a false positive for infection on the sleepyhead executable file. It moved it into quarantine and I had to tell it to put it back and ignore it in the future - those options are available. As long as you download it from the official sleepyhead site, it's not infected.

Regarding data, what is sent to the DME wirelessly is not the full, detailed data but an abbreviated version. We don't know what machine you have because you haven't set up an account - why not?!

Norton is about the WORST EXCUSE for a program ever made, I learned about how bad they were when running Commodore 64, and they haven't improved one BIT, pun intended, pure bloatware. Almost impossible to remove without a reformat.

Avast Free, the best! At least until you find a better one that will pay you to use it. Jim
