Windows 10 and ResScan v 4.2.08.5438

Post by gasp » Sat May 28, 2016 10:09 am

Hi all:

It's time to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and I wondered if I would be able to run my current ResScan software on it. Has anybody successfully loaded ResScan 4.2 xxx on a Windows 10 machine?

Thanks in advance.

Gasp

I had ReScan on my XP computer when I converted to Windows 10....Nothing changed...works well although I use Sleepyhead most of the time. I don't know what version of ReScan I have , But I loaded it at least 2 years ago.

I don't know if it will work or not but just try it and if it doesn't work send me a PM and I will point you to the latest version that I have that for sure will work with Windows 10.
Or just go ahead and upgrade to the new version now and have it covered ahead of time.
The new version seems to download a little faster than the older versions did. Still slow but maybe not quite so bad slow.

Thanks all for the quick response. Pugsy, I think the newest version would be the way to go. I imagine I can export all my current data using the Export function and then Import it into the new verson. Thanks for the quick response. I am going to try to get all done this holiday weekend. Would rather BBQ and swim, but hey can still have a couple of days off if I get this taken care of today

Check your PM box.
All you have to do install the new version...it will overwrite the old version but won't hurt your old data. Everything will be where it always is. No need to do any exporting of anything. The install will do all the work for you. Won't take 15 minutes from download to finish the install unless you have a slow download speed.
Then you can go play all weekend.

Thank you. You're such a deer

I forgot to include one small piece of info. I'm also changing machines. I'm moving all my main stuff from my oldest laptop to my not so old laptop. Both machines had Win 7 and going to Win 10.

Anyway, I just put my card back in the S9 and thought, just put the card in the new ResScan on the newer laptop and poof, all my data will be there.

Thanks for the help!

To others who aren't convinced Win 10 is the grand solution: To facilitate keeping Win 10 off your computer use GWX control panel (totally freeware) to help prevent Win 10 updates/installs. Only download from the Ultimate Outsider website... it's a sweet program and easy to install and use:

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Installed Windows 10 and gave me nothing but headaches. Stay away from it. The machine kept freezing. After a week I went back to Windows 8.1. Windows 10 is OK if originally installed in the computer. When upgrading, some machines are not compatible with windows 10.
To avoid the Windows 10 upgrade pop-up coming all the time uninstall Windows update KB3035583 and then hide it.

I upgraded 2 computers to Windows 10....one was an old Win 7 and one was a year old Win 8.1.
No particular issues with either and Windows 10 other than my own need to learn the rather new way of doing some things...I hate change like that....but I am getting it done and it's far less annoying now.
It's like any version of Windows I have gone to....takes me some time to get used to it.
But as far as the computers themselves having a problem with Windows 10...didn't happen to me.
