Mask and hose noise driving me nuts

Post by Morningglory » Wed May 18, 2016 11:40 pm

Lately it seems like my Simplus FFM has been breathing much, much, louder than usual. I use it with a RemZZZs liner. I am fairly certain that the noise is from the mask/hose and not from the machine, though I checked the air filter anyway.

I've just spent over an hour trying everything I could think of. I've washed everything and gotten a different liner. I've taken apart the headgear and put it back together. I've experimented with tightness of all the different straps to see if that affects it. I've disconnected and reconnected the hose, turning it around to see if that helps tighten the seal. I've put rubber bands around the mask end of the hose. I've moved the mask vertically and horizontally on my face. I make sure the exhale holes were clear and then pressed around the base since that helps whistling. In order to minimize contact between my mask and my pillow/bed, I tried several ways of draping the hose over the headboard.

And still it sounds like I've got Deep Throat coughing in my face. Please tell me there's a fix I haven't tried.

Thank you for preserving my sanity.

I am going to order a cover for my hose since that might help. In the meantime, what else can I do? It doesn't always make this much noise.

It's a shot in the dark, but since it seems you've tried everything else, have you checked to make sure the humidifier chamber is fully inserted and sealed?

What exactly is the noise like? You mention a whistle - ehich is kind of how I would have described rain out, water in the hose.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

The F&P Simplus has a rather quiet diffuser. Have you tried a different cushion?

Thank you all. I do have a spare cushion piece (the actual mask part that snaps into the frame). I'll look for that, clean it up, and hope for a better night of sleep.
