OT: Oldest CPAP user here
Just wondering who might be our oldest-age record-holder on this forum. Also, the one who has been using CPAP for the longest time (I think someone already declared 20 years).

Re: OT: Oldest CPAP user here
Your subject line and your question are a bit confusing.
Are you wanting to know who the oldest cpap user on the forum ......or wanting to know who has used cpap the longest.
Oldest user may not necessarily be someone who has used it the longest.

I'll reply. I am 60 years old and have been on CPAP then APAP since May 18, 1998.

I hate doing this because I know this poll will keep bumping up.....no matter how many post to it the curve will remain the same.

There was a poll on user age awhile back, (thanks, LSAT). where some had checked over 100.Pugsy wrote:Your subject line and your question are a bit confusing.

Love to know if they were legit, or just kidding.

If you go to the member's list, they can be ranked by date joined. The earliest is Johnny, August 24, 2004. And, looking through the first few pages, I see some who still post occasionally.

Re: OT: Oldest CPAP user here
Maybe you will get more honest answers if you simply ask the questions and avoid the poll?
Too many people like to play with the poll.
I would like to know:
1. Age of the oldest cpap user.
2. Most number of years used by a cpap user.
3. Nursing home use and monitoring.
We are all getting older.

You mean, like, among real people? or among the hundreds of personas that Rooster/Roster eventually exploded into?

I can't remember the brand or model of the machine but it was just a brick (CPAP) set to 10 lbs. and I used it for 10 years.Sonnyboy wrote:Impressive. If you can do it, we can too.bryansong wrote:I'll reply. I am 60 years old and have been on CPAP then APAP since May 18, 1998.

But you were not old enough to have witnessed this note being signed by Harry Truman on May 14, 1948:

Re: OT: Oldest CPAP user here
As has been stated, that's actually TWO questions and/or criteria.McSleepy wrote:Just wondering who might be our oldest-age record-holder on this forum. Also, the one who has been using CPAP for the longest time (I think someone already declared 20 years).

Bear in mind that CPAP machines were only invented in the early 1980s, but the technology didn't actually start developing until the late 1990s. The last 10 years or so has seen a considerable improvement in the technology and data collection.
I'm nowhere near being the oldest of the longest user of this therapy.
