Humdity setting and high humidity?

Post by jonny515 » Wed Apr 20, 2016 9:34 am

I'm going to Florida in a couple weeks. I want to know what people from places with high humidity do with their humidity settings. I live in NM, and only have it set for 2-3. I'm wondering if I even need the humidifier at all. We have about 40% humidity when it rains but usually in teens.
Thanks.

Florida is very humid, but on a given day, who can say, esp. depending on how much you feel the need of it, though I guess it's hard to imagine not needing it if you're from Nevada!

New Mexico-- though I think the same basic humidity.

This is a very individual issue. I don't bother bringing the humidifier when I go to FL because I like to travel light when possible. However, I open the window to make sure the A/C doesn't overpower me. If I were headed to a hotel room where I didn't know how dry it was going to be I would bring the humidifier.

Too bad there is no way to check this one out. I don't ever not use the humidifier. My two trips have been to Colorado and Arizona, so no chance to check that out on a short trip.

Doesn't your machine have an "auto" humidity setting in the "Climate Control"?
If so, wouldn't that work? If it does or doesn't use water, would indicate the humidity level is adequate for your needs.
Or, you could set it to a manual mode.

I imagine. Was trying to figure out if I needed to bring the humidifier at all.

I would take it because it is not THAT much additional space to carry, and you never know how your room AC will act.

I'm taking it. If I need it it's there. Good point re: AC, btw.

I leave the setting alone.
Whether the ambient humidity is 15% or 80%, it feels the same.
It just uses less water when it's humid.
