Dream Station Readings

Post by Rickey » Sat Apr 16, 2016 5:24 am

Hi. Please help me understand my first night's results. AHI=6.8, Mask Fit =100 percent, Periodic breathing=0, 90 % pressure=
9.0. This was with a pillow mask. Thanks

Rickey - while most #'s look good, there aren't enough of them to base anything on, esp. as your AHI is actually higher than you might like. Please download Sleepyhead results on Imgur.com, size appropriately and leave a link to them in this thread. As before, ou're stingy with info and we can't help much without more. And please fill out your Profile with equipment details as asked there, plus mask name and pressure settings, etc.

Thanks Julie. I'll try to get those results. I did feel like I wasn't getting enough air.

Hi - ok, great! The first thing, 5 is almost the default (4) low of pressures, and it wouldn't hurt to raise it e.g. to 8 for a couple of nights at least to see if it helps with the lack of air feeling. You may end up not even needing 8, but 7 in future, though the likelihood is that you could go a bit higher depending on your numbers and how you feel in future.

Thanks Julie. Can you tell me anything about my other numbers?

There isn't much to tell - everything looks about perfect... I'm sure you can tell for yourself if you look at them, but if there's something particular you don't get please say and we'll help interpret. Your AHI does need improvement, but I hope raising your low pressure will take care of it, and if not, or if e.g. leaking air either from the mask or your mouth is a problem we can advise too.

I'm going to try to leave Sleepyhead link here. That's a great site!

One thing... sleeping on your back will likely provoke more hypopneas (and apneas), so if it applies, try tricks to keep it from happening, wearing a backpack, putting foam wedges in behind, etc.

Hi everyone,

I am currently on a trial with my DME. This is my second APAP from Respironics.

I noticed something odd after installing the mobile app and syncing data. Unlike with my Encore Pro software, I rarely, but I did on occasion see central events on my stats. However, looking at the very limited data, I see Respironics now calls centrals, "Clear Events". I had 10 logged for the night during 7 hours. Should I be considered?

Also, where can I obtain detailed s/w for this new machine? You folks were generous enough to provide me with the s/w for my legacy Respironics machine many years ago.

Thanks
JC

Thanks Rickey for the suggestion. I considered that before posting. However, since the thread was titled Dreamstation Readings, the detailed software would go hand and in-hand

But yeah, I created another thread, just in case.

Thanks Hopeful50, at this time from the comments in this forum, Sleephead does not support Dreamstation.

Not yet. But do use your own thread next time and try to stick to one thread with questions so we can see your whole history.

Thanks Julie. However, I will need to clarify things further regarding my initial post in this thread.

As a member of countless of internet forums from the inception of the internet and as of today, the first rule that was not only taught but enforced is to avoid creating additional threads unless absolutely necessary. The key was to group related posts to same or similar threads on the subject matter. Moderators have and still do enforce this "unwritten" rule. Readings, data, and software are all related in my opinion.

As far as having a "history" goes, I feel it is not necessary to have a "history" requesting software.

I respect the OP's comment in regards to keeping things related to his particular discussion, that's why I created a separate thread. However, if I posted the same information as the OP, I would have no issue in anyone requesting software in this thread. The last thing any thread or forum needs is to have a "pack" mentality and jump on other users because someone previously has.
