Rate my first night with FFM

Post by loudman » Thu Apr 14, 2016 1:34 am

Here's background: viewtopic/t111445/Confusing-regression.html

I've made a few changes to try to tease out why I've been sleeping worse the last 5 months. Here's what I've done:
- Increase minimum pressure to 6
- Disable EPR
- Gotten a full-face mask(Quattro Air)

Here's the result:

And the 3:45 cluster:

I slept OK. I was pleasently surprised that I think I only briefly woke up for maybe 30 seconds twice.
A couple of questions:
- Do I understand correctly that the "leak" seen is fine, since it's less than 24l/m? I really don't remember having noticed a leak of any kind over night.
- On the second screenshot, why does the leak rate follow the flow pattern during the periodic breathing?
- Given that I had only 1 obstructive apnea, it's starting to feel a bit like a lost cause with the periodic breathing. I guess I should just push to get put straight onto an ASV? Or should I try constant pressure of 8ish?

This is only the second night with the new pressure/settings. The first night looked real good and this one only had the one bad CA string. I don't know the significants of the CA string, but I would give it a bit longer. Others on this board might have a better answer for you.
Your pressure was much more stable, a good thing

The short answer is, yes, under 24 for ResMed machine is considered fine. In other words ResMed says you are treated and the leaks are not preventing the machine from doing its job. The leaks did not seem to bother you, very important, and they look fine to me.

When you start and stop breathing it can destablize the mask

EDIT: I would not jump into a AVS TOO FAST....WAIT a bit between changes....and yes try streight pressure befoer going to a ASV

Sadly the first night only looked good because I woke up once an hour. Yesterday I was ready to go to sleep at 4pm.

We'll see how tonight is though. But I suspect that I'll continue to have those bunches of CA when the pressure ramps down.

as long as the leaks are under 24lpm, and they're not bothering you, then they're ok (on a resmed).

maybe you're moving around? good question, you'd need a video to see what you were doing at the time

how about 7-8 pressure, while waiting on the asv?
