Need to buy CPAP machine
Need to buy CPAP machine
I finally got the results to my sleep study. Scored a AHI of 58 and went to go pickup my CPAP machine. Found out that I will have to pay $500 dollar deductible on top of the monthly rental fee. So after doing some research online it's much cheaper for me to just by a machine online myself. On top of that I won't have to take in my SD card every few weeks to prove to insurance I am using the machine, which just sounds ridiculous. So I have narrowed it down to PR System One REMStar 60 which it looks like i can get for about 500 bucks for everything I would need, machine, humidifier, mask. The AirSense 10 AutoSet all in for about $1000. S9 AutoSet™ CPAP all in for $1000. I just can't quite figure out how to make a decision. I am big on data so would like to get the machine with the most data available. Anyone out there with suggestions on which machine to get or have any new suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I did but didn't get useful information from it other than, good machine mostly. All three of the machines I'm looking at seems to be very well rated.chunkyfrog wrote:You can read reviews on various machines at cpap.com.

They are in the original post but what I'm looking at is PR System One REMStar 60 Series Auto with Bluetooth, AirSense 10 AutoSet, or the S9 AutoSet CPAP.Thatgirl wrote:What 3 are you considering? Sorry, I guess I wasn't reading very closely. Unless you get the white Airsense 10 For Her Autoset, the Airsense 10 Autoset is functionally the same as the S9 Autoset- just cosmetically different and some minor differences (cellular modem for the worthless MyAir, integrated humidifier instead of separate). The pink S9 for Her is EXACTLY the same as the silver S9 Autoset and is currently over $300 cheaper on CPAP.com. So that's the way I would go. Just because you're self pay on the machine, doesn't mean you can't get mask and hoses and filters through insurance and start working your deductible down. The price difference will be less dramatic with that stuff, and then you'll have made progress on your deductible for when you have other medical expenses come up this year.CrazyCarl wrote:They are in the original post but what I'm looking at is PR System One REMStar 60 Series Auto with Bluetooth, AirSense 10 AutoSet, or the S9 AutoSet CPAP.Thatgirl wrote:What 3 are you considering? Yeah, wow if the Ping S9 is exactly the same then that would definitely be the way to go. Thank you for that advice. Lucky the cpap.com office is not far from my house. I'm thinking about taking Monday off and heading there to check things out.

Re: Need to buy CPAP machine
Back in December I bought a brand new AirSense 10 AutoSet with a Resmed AirFit P10 mask for $775. I thought it was a good price. Lincare was the supplier. I paid out of pocket and was able to pick it up the same day. I thought their service was great, but I have no idea how other locations would be.
