New user. It feels harder to breathe with APAP.

It's only been about a week so far for me but it seems like I'm actually not getting much sleep at all. I've been feeling more tired than usual. I think I'm staying awake more because of the mask. I'm using a nasal mask with the resmed airsense10 auto with a pressure range of 6 to 20, humidity 7, and no ramp. Do I just need to get used to it or should I try to increase the pressure? I am normally a mouth breather but I've been able to keep my mouth close. Also I've been getting some slight nasal congestion but nothing that completely blocks my nose. Would a full face mask help? I've read breathing your nose is better for you (body gets more oxygen).

Are you using software like Sleepyhead to monitor your therapy data? If not, get it and study it.

Other than that, I suspect your pressure range is one of the big problems if the pressure is bouncing around all night. Too much humidity can also cause nasal congestion. A full face mask MIGHT help, depending on your preferences and whether you're a mouth-breather. Doing nasal cleansing before bedtime can also be of benefit.

Get the software, study the reports and post some of them here if possible.

Increase min pressure until the air hunger goes away. A wide range of 6 - 20 is going to leave your machine chasing to fix apneas after they happen instead of preventing them.
Machine: ResMed AirCurve 10 ST
Mask: Fisher & Paykel Simplus FFM
