Total Time in Apnea - SH Bar graph

Post by augustsilverbear » Sat Apr 02, 2016 3:34 pm

How is the SH bar graph for Total Time in Apnea calculated?
Last night I recorded 0 OAs, 2 CAs of 32 seconds duration, and 8 hypopneas of 155 seconds duration. My Total Time in Apnea was recorded as 00:03:07. I assume that is 3 minutes, seven seconds of what my Dream Station calculated as apnea.

I would assume the calculation is the total duration of OAs, and hypopneas. Does the Dream Station include CAs in that calculation? Are there other events that factor in as well?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the total time spent in CAs counts in the SH computation of "time in apnea" as does the total time in OAs and the total time in Hs. I don't think anything else counts.

In your case:

3:07 is indeed 3 minutes and 7 seconds, which equals 187 seconds. And 32+155= 187 seconds, so the CA+H time si all that went into the computation on the night in question since there were no OAs.

Thanks.
Curious that CAs count since there is no obstruction there.

Of course they are! My comment was not thought through. I was thinking constriction, not the absence of air flow.
