Second CPAP Machine (backup?)

Post by BrooklynCPAPer » Wed Mar 30, 2016 6:47 pm

Hi all - I'm considering getting a second machine to have on hand as a backup in case something happens to mine. I know trying to get a loaner/replacement from my DME would be painful at best but curious to get the group's thoughts on this. Do others have backups and if so, do you try to get the same machine as your primary? For example I wonder if my backup could be a Resmed S8 or 9 or if I should get a second AirSense 10 instead? I'd probably go with Secondwind CPAP as I think this group generally supports that site.

Thanks!

Backup machine is good idea.. I am actually looking for a backup for my backup...

My main machine is a 760 Bipap PR System 1.. I found a 750 Bipap one version back for $200.00 that is my backup..
The backup for my backup will probably be something I get for little money..

I wish you well...

Got a used S9 (same as my usual) for backup/travel from Secondwindcpap. Costs a little more than Craigs List, but comes with a warranty. Have used it when I travel, luckily haven't needed a backup machine yet.

Get whatever you can afford. If the machine is in good condition and has a reasonable number of hours, go for it. After all...it's a back-up.
