Hello All,
Looking for some advice about snacks and hunger.
I started CPAP about three weeks ago, and my AHI is down to the 1-3 range. Sleep quality is good, though I awake in the middle of the night feeling like I'm starving. During the daytime, I feel better rested, and also generally hungrier.
Is this common? My diet hasn't changed, only the quality of my sleep. I'd also sleep better if I could make it through the night without waking up and needing a snack.
(btw, I'm 6' and weigh 175...BMI = 23.7)
Why am I so hungry all the time? Any suggestions or advice?

Sometimes we feel hungry; but we are actually thirsty.
Try having a glass of water.
Or warm herbal tea. A warm or hot drink feels more filling.

You may be hungrier now that enough 02 is actually getting into your system and energizing things - think about being hungry after an exercise routine. It's also something to be careful of, of course, because you don't want to sabotage your Cpap with weight gain. I would look at your daily routine with a nutritionist and see what can be improved in terms of timing re certain types of foods, i.e. carbs, protein, etc. and see if some readjusting will help things.

I think Julie is correct here, and yes, I have been hungrier since I started 5 months ago. I've gained about 10 pounds, but have also been exercising regularly. So hopefully it is muscle weight gain. LOL.

Big life changes (and CPAP can be a big one for some) often present subsequent behavior issues. Maybe your hunger is simply a symptom of underlying anxiety about these life changes, mostly due to unresolved feelings.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
