I have a PR BiPAP Auto 750 with about 7,000 hrs on it. The past couple weeks, when I turn on my machine it would take a bit to start up and "beep" - the machine screen would reboot (and beep during the reboot). If it reboots more than once or twice I guess it errors out and the screen will say "Service Required". I can take the power cord out and put it back in and that will usually fix it, so it works on the next try.
Anyone else have this problem or offer advise?
I'm freaking out because I've never been able to afford a backup machine and I have an AHI of 131....so I need my CPAP
Anyone have this problem with their PR machine?

But if the machine is saying Service Required, it's a good idea to take it to a DME and ask them to check it out for you. Most DMEs will give a customer a loaner machine to use during the time it takes for their machine to be sent in for repairs.
And given that high untreated AHI of yours, you might want to pick up a used machine on Craig's List (or the equivalent) for cheap that you could use as a back up machine.

I don't have a DME. I bought my machine from a member on this forum 3 years ago. I have been looking on Craigslist but BiPAP Autos don't come up very often.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Re: Anyone have this problem with their PR machine?
I'd still call a local DME and tell them that you moved into the area after you got the machine and that you no longer have a way of contacting or dealing with the people who sold you the machine.Kenwood wrote:I don't have a DME. You might still find one who is willing to lend you a loaner machine while sending your machine in for repairs.

you can also send a pm to 'accurate' or hit them up on their website http://www.acbio.com, they repair those machines.
Get OSCAR
Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

Re: Anyone have this problem with their PR machine?
Thanks everybody for the thread links.....I educated myself this morning researching everything. I went through my error folder on my data card and with help from SleepyCPAP had them decoded from an error code list.

Looks like I have a blower issue. I sent a message to Accurate Biomed Services Inc. (username "accurate") to get a quote.Counting across to the error code, there is a "16" there in the 16th place (if you start on the left and count "02" as zero and then count to 16). In almost all your examples it is "16", although one time it was "18". Those numbers are in Hex, but converted to decimal become 22 and 24. From the list I posted on error codes this is what comes up:
22 MOTOR FLUX MAGNITUDE REBOOT Motor/Blower Errors
24 MOTOR SPEED REVERSE REBOOT Motor/Blower Errors

Re: Anyone have this problem with their PR machine?
Yep, send it to Accurate BioMed like PR suggested.
A year or two ago I read somebody's post about removing the machine case and dual-sided motherboard and then taking the impeller out. They subsequently opened the impeller housing and reached the servo-motor and blades. That's about all I remember but they seemed to somehow fix the problem... maybe it was dust or hair or bearings ? I've also heard that the two board-mounted pressure sensors (two silicone fingers that stick up from the M/B )sometimes deformed due to the lack of a central motherboard screw... then due to pressure leakage, the controller is incapable of maintaining the correct pressure (not uncommon on PR machines, but over my head anyway). Still Accurate BioMed is probably the best bet. Ask for Ian. Maybe you can get a loaner somewhere for two weeks.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
