Acceptable Leak Rate

Post by badgerwooz » Wed Mar 09, 2016 10:47 am

Got the Amara View and thought I had all the leaks taken care but the SleepyHead report says different. I had a AHI of 1.13 but the leak information is listed below. What is acceptable as far as leaks go?

Leak Rate - Rate of detected mask leakage (L/min) W-Avg: 10.22

Min Med 95% Max
0.00 9.00 24.00 31.00

Total LeaksDetected mask leakage including natural Mask leakages (L/min) W-Avg: 50.88

Min Med 95% Max
35.00 50.00 67.00 72.00

Thanks in advance.
Any help appreciated.

baderwooz,

Your signature indicates that you are using a PR S1 humidifier. Are you using a PR S1 Series 50 machine or a PR Series 60 machine?

And what are your pressure settings?

We need that information to tell you how to interpret your leak numbers.

Also it's worth noting that the SH Total Leak Rate numbers are more accurate for System One machines than the SH Leak Rate numbers. So could you post the Total Leak Rate numbers?

Finally a screen shot of the Leak graph for a typical night would also be very useful when trying to evaluate the question of whether your leaks are well controlled, mostly controlled, not particularly well controlled, or very poorly controlled.

The machine is a RemStar Auto 560P. The screen shots are below. It's weird because my and my wife didn't think the mask was leaking at all. Thanks for your help.

well, it probably wasn't leaking too much... I'd say your leaks are acceptable.
