Hello, My name is Chad. I got my Cpap on 3.1.16 it is a resmed not sure of the model. The mask I have looks like a pig snout and only goes over the nose. I woke up last night with soreness on the right side of my nose and when I move my face around it feels sore and maybe slightly swollen.

Here is my story. I have suffered from frequent headaches for the last 10 years and it seems to be getting worse. I went to a sleep clinic about 3 years ago and they said my apnea was not severe enough to warrant a machine. Meanwhile my headaches have become more frequent wit trips to neurologist with a lot of medication and even trying botox. Nothing helped. Well I finally tried another doctor and this time did a home study and they prescribed a Cpap. It is very important that I am successful with this machine because I believe it is the cause of me headaches. I am thinking about trying the nose pillow instead of the partial mask. I know I am wearing it most of the night but I am not really sure how long. I do take it off at night but not sure at what point.

I am just not sure if the pain on my face is a side effect of the CPAP or that style mask does it.

Thank you
Chad

I suggest you try another mask if only as a trial, and that should answer your question. We obviously can't do that for you, much as we'd like to. Most of us have gone through various masks when starting out until we found the right one. Cpap.com has a 30 day trial program for masks (there are dozens), some for a small fee.

Go to User Control Panel/Profile/Edit Equipment and enter your equipment.

No CPAP mask should do this. You might have it adjusted too tightly.

If you fill out the equipment profile, someone might be able to help you.

You do know that for many the equipment profile doesn't show up for anyone including you right?

Might be better to put the info you the signature instead. Link in my signature.

I saw there was a problem yesterday. Not yet fixed?

There is nothing in my equipment profile, so nothing has ever shown.

After almost two months of use I am wearing it most of the night.
The doctor turned up the air pressure and that helped alot. I turned off the humidifier.

Only downside is I am getting headaches in the morning. I have always had an issue with headaches but I rarely wake up with one or get one early in the day like I do now. This all star
ted when the doctor turned up the air pressure but prior to that I was not wearing it through the night.

What was your pressure before the doctor changed it?

What did he change it to?

If it still isn't high enough, you could still have symptoms of OSA, one of which is morning headaches... but those could also be a result of a too-tight neck strap, or something completely unrelated to OSA.
