Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
ResScan will read and display the detailed graphs available from a ResMed S9 VPAP Auto. Have tried three different downloads of Sleepyhead---all did fine with the summary but no detailed graphs. I have searched and found instructions how to. arrange the detailed graphs, but it is hard to arrange something I cannot bring up.
Computer is a Windows 10, 32 and 64 bit capable.
FWIW a Microsoft tech told me yesterday that Windows 10 and SD cards were "incompatible". Guess I will continue to get the "Invalid SD Card" screen when I put the card back in the computer after reading it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
Can you show us a screen shot of what you do see when you're trying to look at the data in SleepyHead? Also screen shots of any error messages from SH would also be useful.theoldman22 wrote:ResScan will read and display the detailed graphs available from a ResMed S9 VPAP Auto. So I guess nobody with a digital camera that uses an SD card can download to a Win 10 machine? I don't think so.Computer is a Windows 10, 32 and 64 bit capable.

When Win 8 came out, there was a lot of discussion about how to properly prevent the Windows operating system from writing hidden files to the SD card in spite of the card being "locked". I don't use Windows, so I don't recall what the work around was.Guess I will continue to get the "Invalid SD Card" screen when I put the card back in the computer after reading it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Do you get this message after you download the data into ResScan as well as when you try to download it into SH?

There are some notes about what to try if a Win 8.1 or Win 10 machine writes to the SD card in spite of the card being locked. You can find them in the FAQ at http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... 1) what are the version numbers of sleepyhead you've tried.theoldman22 wrote:ResScan will read and display the detailed graphs available from a ResMed S9 VPAP Auto. 2) the tech was mistaken or lying.
3) you're either running 32bit or 64bit windows, which?

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
Thanks for the replies.
The computer is a 64 bit that automatically will use 32 bit when needed. Versions tried: Windows Automatic Installer 9.9.8-1-T3 and windows Manual Installation 0.9.8-1-T3 both 32 and 64 bit. Each previous version was uninstalled before trying the next one. There have been no error messages.
Using ResScan the detailed graphs are displayed -- the only peculiarity is the "invalid SD card" message in the VPAP Auto machine. When I download the SD card in SleepyHead, there is a page with a small summary of the SD card..
I see no graphs and no directions of how to find them. I have found the instructions on how to organize the detailed graph screen--but don't know how to get to the screen to organize it.
From reading all the information that I have been sent there is one other thing I will try. My computer does not have a slot for an SD card, I use a card reader that plugs into a USB port. It 'may' be that the card reader is defective and does not detect the write lock on. As soon as I can, I will buy another card reader and try it.

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
if you get the "invalid sd card" message on the vpap, then your windows has written it's crap files on to the card, and the S9 doesn't like that, it will then reformat the card and write summary data.
put the card in, and import into sleepyhead first, then resscan.
it's also possible resscan is deleting the data.
I would suggest a new usb sd card reader, they're cheap.

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
I bought and tried a new card reader (did put the write lock on before inserting the card). Regret to say that I received the same message when I put it back into the S9 VPAP Auto: invalid sd card.
Short of trying to reinstall Windows 7 I have no idea of what to try next.

if your sd card reader is working right, it shouldn't let the OS write to the card.theoldman22 wrote:I bought and tried a new card reader (did put the write lock on before inserting the card). Regret to say that I received the same message when I put it back into the S9 VPAP Auto: invalid sd card.

alternatively, just read your data into sleepyhead every few days and let the s9 reformat the card when you put it back after reading the data.

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
Back when people running Win 8.1 started to report the problem of the OS system writing to locked SD cards, it was discussed in this thread here at cpaptalk: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99159&st=0&sk=t&sd=apalerider wrote:if your sd card reader is working right, it shouldn't let the OS write to the card.theoldman22 wrote:I bought and tried a new card reader (did put the write lock on before inserting the card). The consensus seemed to be that some card readers, including those installed in card slots of machines, may be missing the piece of hardware that physically recognizes the location of the plastic switch on the SD card. Or that the switch-detecting thing in the card reader might be broken.

Re: Sleepyhead--Does Not Bring Up Detailed Graphs
this is quite correct, I've got one very small card reader that's about the size of a usb thumb drive, so small that when the SD card is in it, the slider on the SD card isn't even inside the reader.robysue wrote:Back when people running Win 8.1 started to report the problem of the OS system writing to locked SD cards, it was discussed in this thread here at cpaptalk: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99159&st=0&sk=t&sd=apalerider wrote:if your sd card reader is working right, it shouldn't let the OS write to the card.theoldman22 wrote:I bought and tried a new card reader (did put the write lock on before inserting the card). I'd suggest theoldman22 take back the new one he bought and complain that it doesn't work, and have 'em give him one that honors the write protect slider.
