IntelliPAP 2 DV64D Machine

Post by djtowle » Fri Mar 04, 2016 6:04 pm

HI Have a new IntelliPAP 2 DV64D Machine. Is anyone else using this machine that has prior experience with an APAP. Mine seems to be running away with the pressure settings when compared to my IntelliPAP 1 and A-Flex machine.

All are set to 8.5-18. IntelliPAP 1 and A-Flex both run about 11-12 for 90-95 percentile and mostly run below 10cm. These two machines have worked really well for years. This new machine, IntelliPAP 2 DV64D, starts ramping up from 8.5 and within a couple hours is over 12 and spends most of the night between 16 and 18 cm. Which is filling my gut with compressed air (reminds me of the 1st straight cpap machine I was sent home with).

Anyhow I was looking for anyone who has some prior experience with Apap's who has switched to this new machine and wanted to share experiences.

Thanks.

Could your machine incidentally (accidentally) have been programmed before you got it for Smart Flex that gives exhalation relief, but does raise AHI a bit?

I have ran machine with and without smart flex, no difference in pressure climbing to maximum. One night out of seven it did stay in the 12-13cm range, but even that is hight. My mk 1 machine I have flipped back to a couple of nights does not run this high a pressure, nor did my remstar. Both of those machines run at comparable pressures. Neither running long enough at higher pressures to force air into my gut.

frustrated right now.

Send a PM to 'Wulfman' - he has an IP and is more technically smart than I am.

I have the previous model, and when I use it,
my numbers are slightly higher than with my Resmed, but only a tiny bit.
Since you are having gas buildup, perhaps you should be using the Intellipap bilevel machine.

To clarify I have (3) Apap machines. A Res-Med A-flex and the IntelliPAP I have used for many years. Both of these machines respond in a similar way auto pressure wise for me. My newest machine the IntelliPAP 2 machine, is not auto adjusting pressures anywhere near the other two. It is running 1/2 the night at close to max pressure. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there using this new machine I can compare notes with. I am not concerned with AHI's at this point. Just why this machine is running the pressure up so high.

I am seeing 3 possibilities:

1. New Algorithm. (if so I would say it stinks IMHO)

2. They haven't gotten the kinks worked out of this machine. (mine had a valve missing from the humidifier on delivery requiring a new one get sent out. Guess who gets to pay return shipping on the defective one? LOL)

3. I just have a bum machine.
