#2 Question Chin strap

Post by SleepingBearDoNtWake » Thu Mar 03, 2016 8:48 am

Hello,

This is my second question for today. I am using my Cpap and it has the function to tell me of leaks and what not. My father, told me that he noticed that I was breathing out of my mouth when sleeping. I use nasal pillows. I look at my Cpap data and my leaks are very very low. Should I be breathing out of my mouth. If not, I need to find a chin strap. I got one a few years ago that is neoprene or what ever they call it. It is hot, and sweaty, I can''t wear it. Does anyone know of any chin straps that are made with materials that are more cooling. If I am opening my mouth to breath out, do you think this is influencing my cpap therapy even though it is not showing a leak on my data?

Thanks

Mike

You have to be losing lots of air that way that should be going to keep your airway open. What software are you using that shows low leakage?
