Use only distilled water and good cleaning practices for maximum results, a cleaner machine and less opportunity for infection.JaphetAnciado wrote:What will happen if I use soda instead of water?

for what, making your coffee? it'll be bubbly, but will probably go flat fairly quickly.JaphetAnciado wrote:What will happen if I use soda instead of water?
actually, come to think of it, if you try heating the soda first, it'll outgass all it's co2 and be quite flat before you make the coffee, if you use cold soda, to make like, iced coffee, then the nucleation sites on all the coffee will likely give you a mentos style reaction, how vigorous it will be will depend in large part what soda you use.

Re: Water or soda
I imagine it would be kind of a sticky mess.

a funny post every now and then is good to keep us laughing. If you evaporated all the soda you would probably be left with a syrupy goo. I have seen them boil down soda, and it is pretty nasty how much stuff is in it. Don't think you would get the same results, but maybe. Who knows, but wouldn't advise. Though if it I can smell it and have no calories, might help me lose some weight.
Peace,
Mike

You will get fatter, unless you use Distilled Soda. JimJaphetAnciado wrote:What will happen if I use soda instead of water?

Re: Water or soda
Funny I just assumed they were talking about soda water, not soda as in like Pepsi.

Re: Water or soda
I recently discovered that my small P10 pillows will fit inside of a SodaStream bottle;
and if I run a string through them, I can retrieve them after a nice carbonated soak.
Next step is to find out if this is useful or not for removing odor, etc.
So not a totally ridiculous thought. Yet.
I would NOT, however put soda water in the tank--have you ever had sparking water gas go up your nose?

What a good idea. Carbonated soda water is great for removing nasty odors.chunkyfrog wrote:I recently discovered that my small P10 pillows will fit inside of a SodaStream bottle;

Let us know what you find out.

Doesn't that change the taste of the soda. Jimchunkyfrog wrote:I recently discovered that my small P10 pillows will fit inside of a SodaStream bottle;

I'll take beer over water and soda any day.
