Recommend a minimal nasal mask

I like the soft feel of my Dream wear mask and comfort of the nasal part that sits under the nose and has a minimal opening to the nostrils.

However, I want to sleep on my side and I block one of the two air channels that sweep up the sides. Some people don't mind that, but I can't stand it.

Can anyone recommend another comfortable, minimal nasal mask?

Check out the Airfit P10. I find it to be a very comfortable mask.

The other possibility might be the Swift FX.

Looks like you are looking for a nasal mask which if that is the case you might try the Swift FX Nano or Airfit N10. With the N10 I had to use a liner to stop leaks but otherwise it was comfortable.
Now if you are willing to try nasal pillows I also recommend the Airfit P10. It is my mask and I'm very comfortable with it.

Can you tell me why you can't stand it when one side is blocked? I thought I might try the dream wear in the future, but I am always on my side and interested to know what you mean. Thans!

Ditto for me. I thought the dreamwear provided full flow even if one side is fully blocked. is this not true?

It's true...if one side is compressed (like when we have the side of our face down on the pillow) the air dispersal and subsequent pressure is still maintained with just one side "open".

I tried various experiments to see if I could feel or experience any change when I lay on one side or the other and I could not tell any difference in how the pressure felt or was delivered and I primarily sleep on my side...and I used the DreamWear for a full month testing to see how it would work.

I don't think that most people would be able to perceive any difference and I don't think that the problem that Dave had when he tried it with side sleeping, is something that is common at all.
I think his perception is not the norm. Most people won't be able to tell any difference in the air flow from side to side to on their back.

Roman, please describe the differences in more detail if you don't mind? I'm currently using a full face mask but it doesn't seal like I'd like it to. Originally I decided on the full face because I 'am a mouth breather'. The odd thing is that in order to keep it sealed, I've now trained myself to keep my mouth closed inside the mask and only breathe thru nose. Interested to know w/ the nose pillow, are you both inhaling and exhaling thru your nose or inhaling with nose and exhaling with mouth?

As you can see from my profile, I'm relatively new to this world of CPAP. I'm determined to figure it out - for my health.

I recently switched from the Swift FX to the AirFit P10 as well. I like the P10 better because:

1. I don't seem to have problems with the mask moving around when I shift to sleeping on my side
2. it's lighter overall and doesn't leave marks on my face
3. it doesn't have a vent that shoots out a stream of air like the Swift FX. Somehow the P10 is able to vent through a mesh of smaller holes without noise, and without a directed stream of air.
4. The pillows seem to fit better. I don't spend any time adjusting for leaks.
5. The stretchy cloth strap is super thin, and easy to adjust. It's much stronger than I expected.

My only concern with the P10 is the durability of the strap. I've been using it for 3 weeks and so far it's great. I have a spare headgear strap just in case.

I use the Dreamwear and sleep on my side all the time. I can't tell any difference in airflow with one side occluded. I guess YMMV.

Yeah, is there some kind of trick to use with the Swift FX? I thought it was supposed to be an improvement over the Swift LT, but I can't get a decent seal unless I drop to a size medium and put medical tape across my nares. These Swift FX nasal pillows seem too flimsy. Kinda I need a P10 nasal pillow with sturdier FX silicone headgear, maybe. Even with the LT, I had to use suspender crimps to keep the top straps in place because the blue buckle didn't hold the straps very long. The search goes on. Maybe nnare taping will become a regular practice if it helps enough.

Just received my Airfit P10 Nasal Pillow system. Quick question - I've been using the Airfit F10 which has a 'quick disconnect' of the hose to the mask. If I get up during the night, I can easily disconnect the hose from mask & reconnect it with a 'click'. With the P10, it appears if I'll be stretching the rubber end of the hose each time for attachment / removal of the hose from the mask (for cleaning, getting up, etc.).

Is there a two-piece disconnect that can be attached, each piece independently into/onto the end of the two hoses, but then snapped/unsnapped for separating? I've been googling, but am not sure I've found what I'm describing yet.

I don't know of any 2 piece device that will do what I think you are trying to do but maybe one of these or a combination of the 2 might do what you are wanting.
