I've been using a cpap machine for two months now, and last night tried the new DreamWear Nasal CPAP mask. I've used other masks before, and didn't snore with any of them.. But, last night while using the new DreamWear mask, my husband reports that I was snoring lightly. Is that possible and still be using the mask correctly?
In the past I've used a Phillips Respironics Wisp Nasal Mask (the head gear seems to heavy duty) and their Nuance Nasal Pillows (the pillows eventually irritated my nose) and a ResMed Nasal mask for her (the constant blowing of air from the bottom and top of the nasal piece was bothersome). I never was reported snoring with these devices.
Thanks for any help or advice in advance.

Re: Possible to Snore while Using Cpap?
It is possible that snoring may indicate that your pressure should be increased slightly, or your pressure range lowered, or whatever change would helpful for you to try. Without look at your sleep data, though, this is hard to quantify. Since your posting doesn't display your equipment information, I can't tell if your cpap allows you to look at your sleep data, but I would suggest finding out if you can look at your sleep data, and the pursue sharing it for comment here.
You can add your equipment information to your postings by clicking on "User Control Panel" on the upper left hand side of this page. Then click on the "Profile" tab, and bring up "Edit Equipment". You can add the models of your cpap, humidifier, and so on there, and then we can figure out if you can look at your sleep data. After that, it's a matter of posting some sample sleep data to see what can be done *smile*.
I should add that since I've been using cpap, my sleep data doesn't show snoring. My wife tells me that I make other odd noises, but not snoring *smile*.

Do you experience nasal congestion?
Are you doing nasal cleansing before bedtime?
Are you using software to SEE your nightly data? Sleepyhead is available to download and it's free.
If your pressure is not "optimal", that can also be a factor. Different masks can also have different results.

Wifey says yes. Not often, but every once in awhile I would wake her with my snoring. At that time I was using RemSTAR+ "Brick" & FFM. If she hadn't awoken me I'd never have known.

I snore horribly sometimes WITHOUT my CPAP.
My wife says I have never woken her by snoring while using the CPAP, though.
YMMV
