Nasal Pillows vs Mask

Post by bobcpap » Fri Dec 04, 2015 10:46 am

Hey Everyone:

Any experience to share? I'm new and using nasal pillow (only over nose), which results in no leak and a nice sleeping experience, but I'm very groggy next day. I'm still new and going to give it 2 full weeks before changing anything as my body adjusts to CPAP, but was thinking of maybe trying a nasal mask to see if that helps if I'm still so groggy in 2 weeks. I can't imagine it would as enough air should be flowing in thru the nasal mask, but maybe some have found improvement with nasal mask over nasal pillow.

I don't think there's any mouth leak because I'm a light sleeper and the one time I woke up to roll over and opened my mouth, I felt how strong the air was and know I would immediately wake up if I did open my mouth.

Thanks!

The only change I would make is in pressure. The minimum of 5 is pretty low considering your average is 9.5. I would gradually raise your minimum to 8. If the mask is comfortable, I would hesitate making a change. Also...you have the incorrect humidifier listed in your profile.
