Off Topic: On Sunday

Interestingly, today "Guest" a/k/a: Sweetsnore, Zombiehead and BlackSpinner -- posted in the above thread.

Why is it that some people have several "names" ?

Why is it that some people are accused of having several names, and others are not?

Could this person(s) also be happydaz, worldwar and/or EMS -- maybe even Lucy?

That guest may have my name after it but it isn't me. I never post anonymously in any way. So you can just go and shove your bitching and ignorance where the sun don't shine.

Sounds simply like some crossed up data somewhere in the CPAPtalk program. I can see why some are upset but it's not time to call out the dogs of war just quite yet.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

It's quite likely that this "Guest" and others have (or have had) the same ISP or IP address which is being used for identification. I can tell you that I have accessed this site as a guest with a different IP and the post was attributed to member Archangle.

I researched this before I started this thread -- a person attempting to register on this site cannot use an existing member's user name. If this is simply crossed up data, it should certainly be fixed. I doubt that's the case though.

Typically, it's the same ISP that others use when that happens. The person who posted it didn't say where they were from, but I'd suspect it might either be in Canada or is using the same ISP as BlackSpinner. Used to happen much more often with AOL users.

And here's a thread that discusses this. I didn't read all the way through it, but it does talk about using the same ISP as Den and I mentioned above. Further, I think that this only happens when someone is attempting to post anonymously, not register with the same name.

I've seen that before, recently. Where a guest posting lists three well-known posters under it, none of whom that guest poster sounded like. As far as I'm concerned, if the "also posted as" thing isn't working right, it should be abandoned. And the posting mentioned by the OP is another example of that. I'm not sure how the forum software figures out who someone has posted as before (IP address?), but it isn't working right at this point.

You already told us in an earlier post that you were here a few years ago under a different name. Why is that different?
Remember what Ricky Ricardo said to Lucy......"Lucy, you got some splainin to do!"?

This summer I was at the hospital waiting for a relative who was in surgery. I used the hospital's internet access and posted here without logging in. It surprised me that the post showed I had posted here under two other names. I have never posted but under the one name I am using now.
