Air Sense 10 sudden shutdown?

Post by Lee Lee » Sat Nov 14, 2015 7:43 am

Last night, my husband's machine shut itself off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. I can't figure out why that would happen, unless it was from a large leak, which I don't see on his results. Anyone else have this happen before?

The machine will not shutoff automatically due to large leaks. I would contact your provider as soon as possible. They may have emergency service and this would classify as an emergency.

Air Sense 10 comes with a 2 year warranty. Hopefully your supplier is as good as mine. My supplier brought a loaner machine the same day I called for my previous Resmed cpap.

Hi Lee Lee,

I don't know. But, if you don't have the manual (I can't imagine you don't), here's the link to download it.

https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf

If you check pages 17 and 18, it hints that it COULD happen.

How long was it off and did it restart quickly? (or not)
From previous discussions, about this subject, it was suggested that it wouldn't show large leaks if this happened.

SmartStart™ Enable / disable the SmartStart feature. If you enable the SmartStart
feature, the device will start automatically when the patient breathes into
the mask and then stop automatically when the patient removes the
mask.

Stopping therapy
1. Direct the patient to remove the mask.
2. Direct the patient to press Start/Stop, or if SmartStart is enabled, therapy will stop automatically
after a few seconds.
The Sleep Report now provides a summary of the therapy session.

The two times my S9 turned off were:

1. Power out to the entire house, and

2. Loose connection at the transformer.
