You were doing fine until the last paragraph. If you expect that to work it must be the first time on the internet. On the internet you get what you get, not just what you want, then you must sort it out.

I keep Hershey Kisses and water by the bed, it doesn't stop the drueling, but it does make it more pleasant. Jim

I do take Inderal, it pull water off my heart, sometimes it dries me up so bad I could spit sawdust, other times drool is rampant, no known reason.

Moisture is your friend, except if it makes you sore.
I always wake with a bit of slobber on my face. (Usually it's mine.)
I keep a drinking jar of water with a straw by the bed.
When I wake, I get a drink and use some artificial tears, and then I'm good to go.

Better off with the moist mouth than dry. Dental health is much better with the moist enviorment. I guess germs have to eat and drink too, better they don't have to subsist on your teeth and gums, producing acid to do even more damage.

I wake up about every hour or two take a drink of ice water from a big cup and straw find a new position and go back to sleep. I don't really awaken, I also run a TV all night playing series with the ads removed, and a fan or a/c, for noise. Jim

irishmanandrew wrote:So I have seen a few posts on here but most are old. Here is my specifics...

I have been searching for a few hours and read an immense amount of posts. What I have seen is as follows:

-Adjust humidity
-Tape mouth during sleep
-Use panty liners
-Buy padacheek
-Make small fabric insert to go between mask and seal to catch saliva
Are you sure you don't mean "mask liners" instead of those other liners you mention? there are other liners besides padacheek... padacheek is good, but the other brands are good too, it just depends on what works for each individual. Any or all of these methods have worked for cpapers. The idea of a liner between mask and seal is new to me, but I suppose it could work for saliva. I've always thought of a fabric insert going between cushion (seal) and face as a liner to help with facial irritation or leaks. In fact, I now make my own liners from old t-shirts, some users make them from old panties. I have not had problems with drool, so I can't help with that, sorry... but you could try a piece of fabric if it doesn't prevent the cushion from fitting properly on the mask.

I ditto what others have said about dry mouth... water bottle with a straw near the bed, pop hose connector off the mask, take a few swallows, attach the hose and go back to sleep. After close to two years of this, I still wake at times with extremely dry mouth, but it's gotten far less frequent.. I also think that I'm less aware of it than I was in the beginning.

A thin panty liner has actually been used by a few to absorb excess drool. (It works)
Of course, it has to be clean and new, and the wearer not squeamish.
Some guys will do this once and then talk about it forever for the shock effect.
