Suffering Need help.

Post by mrje1 » Sat Nov 07, 2015 1:34 pm

Hey everyone,

I am so grateful to have found this website. I am hoping you guys can give me some insight because I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. The doctor's are just not finding the answers or keep screwing me up. I have to keep waiting for weeks for my next appointment. can't take it any longer. It is totally interfering with life. I will describe my issue as best as I can and can add more as I go along with this topic or as you guys ask questions. Let me know of any information you need and I will do my best find it or answer.

I have been diagnosed with central and obstructive sleep apnea. I took the sleep study in summer of 2014 and another one in September 2015 with another doctor. I also have problems with weight. I weigh 260 pounds and currently losing weight and getting back into shape. I have been struggling with this for the past year where I keep on waking up non-refreshed and constantly feeling a non functioning fatigue and tiredness which causes me to lay down multiple times a day. Some days vary than others though where it might not be as bad etc. I have been complaining about this to the doctor over the past year, gave me some answers that I don't recall right now, but no resolve. There were spurts where I had to let it go and delt with it while I was heavily distracted by other things. Now I am really attacking this because I just can't get a quality life right now. I also can't get 7 or 8 hours of sleep. I am averaging from 4-6 hours as well.

I am now resorting to messing with the settings on my machine because I refuse to wait week after week for the doctors to come up with an answer. If anybody has any thoughts, questions etc. please let me know. I am hoping to have this resolved and looking forward to a better quality life again.

I thank you all for your help. I really do appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum.

So it looks like you have a PR System One model 960 machine so it will works with Sleepyhead or Encore.
The fact that you mention "system one resistance" and the min epap and max ipap means a PR S1 960 machine as it is the only one that does min and max EPAP in the Respironics line.

Can you post an image of a typical daily report?

How come you can't get more than 4 to 5 hours of sleep?
Do you take any meds of any kind for any reason?
Do you have any other health issues?

Hi Julie. Thank you for your question. The details are in my profile. Are they not displayed? I am using the Respironics System One bipap autoASV with the ResMed Mirage Micro Mask.

Hi Pugsy. Thank you very much for your questions etc. I posted my equipment info in my profile, but for some reason you guys can't see it. Is there away to show it? I have the Respironics System one Bipap Auto ASV.

This report, is this from the machine that the doctor's download? If so, I will look into the report you are looking for, but give me some time maybe a day. When it comes to sleep, I have no clue right now why I am only getting 4-6 hours of sleep. I trying to find the answers. The only answer I got was because I am laying down so much during the day that it is causing me to possibly get less sleep at night. I remember a few times when I didn't lay down that much for the day and I still only got 4-6 hours.

No, I don't take any meds for anything.

Health issues as of right now is obesity, sleep apnea, acid reflux, sinus issues and some anxiety. Anything else I forget I will let you know.

Nothing at all is showing in your profile..now I know the machine link is broken but the humidifier and mask should show up. Did you click submit after making your choices?
If it won't show up...just manually add to the comments section.
You can keep it brief...it's PR S1 960 ASV model.

I don't know what report your doctor gave you so I don't know if that's what we would want to see or not.
Your machine is full data machine and you can generative your own reports.

I thought I did hit submit. I will do it again. Where would that information show up? I placed the information in my topic post anyway.

Aweseome! I will learn how to get those reports. Thank you!

Pugsy, I'm looking and it looks like no one's equipment profile is showing up for some reason. Must be a site issue.

Rats...didn't even notice. I think the website has had some issues today and yesterday and in the past when that happens everyone's profile seems to go AWOL. Probably will get sorted out next week when the IT guys get back to work. May take a little while. Eventually they will show up but the machine link will still be broken.
That's okay...OP has a 960 I am certain because of the settings available in the menu that was quoted.
No other ASV has those setting options.

Until you have the software up and running how about posting the limited data on the machine's LCD screen?

If you don't know about the data on the LCD screen or it isn't accessible (has to be set to "Show AHI" for you to see it...check out this link and the video.
