DreamStation users: AHI# different on display/app?

Post by pwgphoto » Tue Nov 03, 2015 7:06 pm

Hello all,

Just finished my first seven nights on CPAP as a newly diagnosed Sleep Apnea patient. I am still learning a lot of the basics. My doctor gave me a DreamStation Auto CPAP machine and I am switching between a Wisp Nasal Mask and AirFit P10 pillow. The pillow gave me a sore on my nose after two nights, so the last five have been with the Wisp. I want to try that new DreamMask when I get a chance. My Doctor/DME set my machine for a range between 4-11. I felt like I had trouble breathing at the lower settings so I raised the bottom pressure to 7 after trying 5-6.

I know that the DreamStation is new and the only software that can read it is the PR DreamMapper App. I have it on my phone and desktop. I am trying to learn what everything means, but I think there is a bug somewhere, either my machine or the app. The machine AHI# is always reading at over twice what the app AHI# says for the night, so I don't know which is correct. I will post a screen shot from the app and my machine for the same night to show what I mean. I also have a 100% for mask fit and no large leak time at all every night I have used the machine, which I find hard to believe with my mustache and beard. So anyone else getting weird numbers on the machine and app?

Thanks

I have no idea what might be going on. In general I tend to rely on the machine data because in the past that data normally has gone along with software data.

Do you have a Windows computer? There's a new version of Encore Pro that has been recently released.
I am assuming that it will work with the new DreamStation machines but I can't seem to get it installed to check it.
Want to be a guinea pig and try it? Encore Pro is a bitch...so I will warn you...but she normally can be managed. My issues are the first I have ever had with Pro and I haven't had time to sort them out.

Send me a private message if you want to attempt it.
