Mask pinching my cheeks, suggestions?

Post by Zoopshine » Mon Nov 02, 2015 11:43 am

It's not the straps, it's the actual mask. Where it rests on my cheekbones is getting a bit pinched, and there are often red marks when I get up. I suspect the fact I'm a side sleeper doesn't help. It's only a minor annoyance, but I'd prefer the marks weren't there if possible. Suggestions?

If you absolutely need a full-face mask, I can't make any suggestions. But if you don't need a FF mask try the Dreamwear Under Nasal Mask. It has a very minimalistic design, is very comfortable, and is suitable for a side sleeper (as I am).

One note of caution with this mask: it is way too easy to over-tighten this mask. When properly fitted you should not feel any pressure under your nose or around your upper gum line and you certainly will not wake up with any lines on your face. It will almost feel too loose but when properly fitted you will see no leaks (or very minimum) in Sleephead.

Good luck!

You talking my current mask, or the one you're suggesting as too tight? I wondered if I was over-tightening it, but it was blowing in my eyes. Maybe I just need to look into an entirely different mask. Unfortunately, a FFM is pretty much always going to be my gold standard (orthopnea, big time!).

Sounds like you are over-tightening it. Take a look at my blog post "Taming the Mirage Quattro" This applies even if your mask is not a Mirage Quattro.
