Still Not Sleeping Well with My CPAP Device.
I began my CPAP journey 23 days ago (Oct. 6) the day I picked up my equipment. My doctor determined that I probably would require a full face mask. I thought I would be measured for a mask and probably receive it in a few days (I thought they were custom made). The tech never measured me just sent me home with the mask she thought I needed. It was so uncomfortable by the 3rd day so I went back and exchanged it for the mask I have now (still not measuring me). Anyway, though it is getting better, the mask still wakes me up a few times every night. It is leaking up by the bridge of my nose and blowing into my eye only on the right side. What am I doing wrong that I am having to get up and readjust several times a night?

With a full face mask, it needs to be properly sized. Then, it needs to be properly adjusted.......not too loose and not too tight. If it's too tight, it'll leak like a sieve. It needs to "float" on the face. The air needs to inflate the cushion which then seals to the facial area.needsomezzs wrote:I began my CPAP journey 23 days ago (Oct. 6) the day I picked up my equipment. I'm not familiar with your mask but the above is generally how they need to fit.

Re: Still Not Sleeping Well with My CPAP Device.
Hang in there: it's worth it. Keep making changes and adjustments until the system is:
1) comfortable
2) effective
Ask for help if help if you can not resolve the problem from your health care professional. It took me a long time, but it was worth it. I started with a full mask and now use a nasal mask. Madness is doing the same thing twice and expecting different results: keep making changes until it works for you.

Re: Still Not Sleeping Well with My CPAP Device.
I used the Simplus and it leaked in the same place.
Do not over tighten the Simplus and adjust the straps by small (1/8") amounts once you get it close.
Also once you get it on and adjusted try pulling it toward your chin a little to get it to seal better at the top of your nose.
The Simplus is still my backup but now I use the Amara View
