Apnea events
Apnea events
Hi there! I am finding my average events per hour are varying a lot and wonder if this is normal. I recently went down on my mask size from a large full face mask to a medium. I was thrilled at first to see my average apnea events went down from a 9 or higher to as low as a 2.5. But now it seems to be varying. Last night my average went up to 6.8. My sleep report on my machine showed good mask fit and no leaks. My doctor is trying to get me to stay under 5 and I don't want him increasing the pressure any more(it's already at 12). I am a somewhat restless sleeper and change from back to side during night. Ant thoughts or should I just stop worrying so much about my "number"? Thank you so much!

There's not sufficient information in your post to offer any advice.Onedot49 wrote:Hi there! I am finding my average events per hour are varying a lot and wonder if this is normal. Except.......
Please fill in your profile with the exact equipment you're using and the settings.
Are those numbers you're posting from your machine's LCD or from some software?
Are you using fixed pressure? You mention a setting of 12, but we don't know if that's a minimum or fixed/straight pressure.
What is your leak data like? You state you're using a full face mask, but they can leak, too.
If you have a data-capable machine (it appears that you do) and are not using software (like Sleepyhead) to monitor your therapy........get it.

Re: Apnea events
Mine also varies between 0 and 10. I look for mostly low and measure that against how I feel. I will always "play" with things to try and get lower, but if I am feeling rested, well that's fine also.
