What do you think of the Amara View Full face mask?

Post by Goofy Lady » Tue Oct 20, 2015 5:25 pm

I am having a terrible time with the Cpap experience! I have lost all confidence in the sleep center i have been using. He fitted me with the wrong size mask and wont let me exchange the mask for a different one. I went to a local medical supplies place and like the Amara View Face mask. Does anyone else like it. I plan on fighting the office to let me exchange mask tomorrow.

I don't have the Amara View, but will get it when I need a new mask, I think. Most DMEs will let you exchange within 30 days... the reliable ones will, anyway usually. Stand your ground!

use it, love it. Sometimes it takes more than one try to get it on correctly, but when I do it's great.
Sleeping MUCH better now

I wish they would make it in an extra small, or "petite"
My little nose drops right through the hole. Not secretions--the whole NOSE!
I need a full face mask, but all the mask designers HATE me!
(Sniff) How could this adorable face possibly be considered abnormal?

I'm sorry cute little chunkyfrog but I am glad I'm not alone. With a FFM I get higher numbers than I get untreated, and mouth dryness so severe I can hardly open my mouth in the morning. Guess I'm just bass ackwards.

I've been using the Amara View for about 2 months & am glad my RT gave me one to demo. I do have some issues with small leaks by my nose, but it's usually under 7 L/min, compared to 12 to 20 L/min for the F10 I had been using. AHI has been av. 2.7, compared to 3.3 for F10. I had also tried the Mirage Liberty which got me 9.0 AHI with similar under 7 L /min leakage -- the Liberty was also very noisy, with loud toots when it blew out the seal. I do wish Respironics would make a 'narrow' version of the nose slot for those of us with narrower noses as I think that would eliminate much of the leakage I get. It took a couple weeks, but the groove & sores on my nose bridge from the F10 are gone
