Is this sleep apnea or no?
Is this sleep apnea or no?
Okay so a while back I posted about my doctor basically not calling me about my results of my polysomnogram signifying nothing is wrong. So I started to question wether or not that may be true. I don't rest well, I wake up still tired. See I ended up finding out that I've had black mold in the outer walls of both rooms in my apartment. -.- that's been removed for about a week now or so now. My allegies actually have seem to really die down. I can breathe better and my nose doesn't completely block up. Anyways... I thought maybe that was my golden ticket. That I'd sleep at least somewhat better now. I'm not, I'm really not. See I thought maybe since it's black mold I was experiencing symptoms of sleep apnea and fatigue problems. But I don't know now, I'm worried that somehow the polysomnogram went wrong or something and my doctor just screwed up something to do withy results. I'm a very worry some person I HAVE to figure out exactly what's wrong so I can let my mind rest. I get about 6-8 hours a night of sleep straight, I don't wake up between hours or anything. See what I'm concerned about is this issue I'm having with falling asleep during the day. I want to take naps because I'm so tired but when i start dozing off and getting into like a deep state right before falling asleep my heart like jumps and takes me out of that over and over... So I really don't know what that is. I mean I don't think I'm gasping for air when it happens? I wonder if like my oxygen is getting low or if it's something else doing that. I've thought of many possible things my issue could be and I've done my research on them. Anxiety disorder(s), depression, CFS, Fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, allergy related apnea, black mold poisoning. I can see it being any of these issues or a mix really. I had mono about 2 years ago, a very severe case i was told, the infection lasted for 6-7 months. Then i got off some prescription meds as well (zoloft, wellbutrin and seroquel) cold turkey i might add. The withdrawal put me under a lot of stress on top of my neighbours smoking weed all the time which I'm very sensitive to because of my history with it. Then I also got bed bugs and that just made things worse. I'd barely sleep and I'd shut down ready to faint often. This went on for several months. I had to move and leave all my stuff behind because of those bed bugs. Then moved into the apartment Im in now and it turns out I've been exposed to black mold for several months... About 9 months. So I'm not too what's going on with me, I think there's definitely a huge possibility for CFS or fibromyalgia here. See I did some exercise almost a week ago, a good hour long power walk. Now I've been so weak, a lot worse I have pain all over my body, my limbs and joins are weak and I have fatigue deep into my bones it feels like. I wake up in pain all over, heart beating hard, nausea, acid reflux. I am honestly at a loss. I just don't know... I'm too tired and weak for anything now. Someone tell me something I can work with... please. At least someone tell me if It's possible my issue falling asleep could be apnea. If there's somewhere else I should post this then can someone please direct me if you know?

Re: Is this sleep apnea or no?
You need to ask for a copy of your sleep study results. See if it is clear one way or the other, or whether you need to do another sleep study.
There is no way to diagnose these types of problems online. Unless you have very obvious symptoms like loud snoring and gasping for air, then it really depends on the sleep study. Your sleep study results will show your sleep cycles, oxygen levels, etc.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
Re: Is this sleep apnea or no?
You need to see a doctor, whether or not you have apnea. You need to be tested for respiratory problems following the mold exposure and need to have fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue definitely ruled in or out. And anything else lab work might turn up, including drug effects. Stop trying to diagnose yourself from the internet. Stop focusing on apnea. Just get seen and get your real symptoms checked out... don't steer the MD one way or another re anything - doctors are human and if tired may find it easier to go with your suggestions (even if only subconsciously) but miss out of things that need addressing. Don't speculate to the doctor, but do give a list of specific and real problems.
