Mask questions

Post by tinkerbell72 » Sat Aug 15, 2015 8:58 am

I posted before because I lost my insurance and getting masks has been troubling. Two people from this site were kind enough to donate two masks.

One of the masks was a Phillips Respironic Comfort Gel nasal mask. Last night one of the notches on the mask that the headgear latches on to (left side) broke. Is there a part I can buy to replace? I get confused with masks, clips etc.

Also if anyone has a mask to donate or sell low cost that is compatible with a Philips Respironic Remstar please let me know.

FYI, just about any mask will work with any machine, so you're not limited in that regard.

As far as finding low-cost masks, check out sites like CraigsList or even ebay. "Legitimate" sites will require a prescription to purchase a mask, but you can purchase on CL without a problem (and at a much lower cost). As far as ebay goes, they're not allowed to sell complete xPAP items, but they *are* allowed to sell parts; so you could, conceivably, buy and replace just the part of your mask that broke.

I think you can just buy that frame/cushion without headgear but you can buy the entire mask for about the same money.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/comfor ... onics.html
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-com ... dgear.html

The Comfort Gel Blue is also on sale for about the same $.

What size do you use? I might have something in the donation box. Inventory is really low but might have something.

I just did a quick check at EBay...lots of cushions and headgear and clips but I didn't see anything about just that frame.

Is it where the clip slides into the frame or the clip itself that broke?

Okay so looking at the clips that were posted I think I understand now it's not the clip has broken it's the part that the clip goes into that actually broke

That would be what I call the frame and I haven't found just the frame itself offered.
Even if I did I bet it would cost close to what cpap.com is selling the entire mask for.

What size? Tell me what size and I will go check my donation box to see what I might have that you can use.

Oh and I'm sorry I forgot to say I wear a small mask....

I have tried Craigslist but for my area they're mostly machines being sold and people are trying to sell the masks pretty much for what you what pay out of pocket or they're selling them from out of state

Okay...I will go check to see what I might have in a small mask of some sort. I know I have a couple of large somethings but maybe I still have a small stuck in there somewhere.
Will get back with you later after I go dig out that box and look through it.

If she does not, I have a spare original small Comfortgel full face mask she can have for shipping costs.
No cushion, headgear is too well-used, but I can ship the frame and clips.
Oh, sorry! Mine is a full face.

I had no comfort gel stuff at all.
I do have a F & P Zest nasal cushion mask in a size Petite and some sort of ResMed nasal mask I can send you.
Send me a private message and tell me your name and mailing address.

I also have a frame and headgear for the ResMed Mirage FX nasal I think it was...no cushion though.

The Zest appears new or barely used. The ResMed is a small but it has been used.
I don't have any paperwork for these masks so you will need to go online to figure out how to fit them.

So I don't have much....my inventory is really low right now. That pretty much cleans out my supply of nasal masks and I only have one full face mask left and it is in a size Large.

I've never used a nasal mask, but I do have a couple of old nasal pillows masks. Please tell us what other masks you *do* have (and if any of them just don't work for you) so we can narrow down what we might have that may of help.

I have some new Swift FX nasal pillows but I don't have the headgear or short hose assembly.
If someone else has the headgear and hose I can include new nasal pillows for the Swift FX.
