swift hose popping off

Post by bert » Sat Jul 01, 2006 9:19 am

The small hose (both ends) on my Swift kept popping off when i rolled over at nite.

Solution:

Zip tie both ends with the smallest zip ties you can find.

Works for me.

bert,

I'm sorry but what are zip ties? I don't use my Swift anymore for a few reasons and this is one of them.

Thanks
France

zip ties

Post by Pad A Cheek » Sun Jul 02, 2006 9:30 am

I believe the Zip ties are long plastic strips that are frequently used to hold wires in bundles. They have a little box on one end that the other end slides through, and as tight as you pull it, that is where it will stay fastened. It is hard to loosen once you have it tightened, these are a one way only strip used to bind loose strands together. They work very well for their intended purpose.

After you get it as tight as you want you can cut the excess off with scissors. That is the way to remove them also, cut them off when you are finished using them, but they are inexpensive and disposable.

I hope that helps you understand the concept.

I was having some problems with the connector at the top of the small hose popping off, but I screwed it in hard (it has a raised thread on the fitting) and it hasn't come off since.

We call them "tie-wraps" or "wire ties" You should be able to find them in a hardware, home improvement or variety store.

Thanks for that original post..Heck, that was happening to me and I figured it was a defective hose. I woke the other night wondering what all that air was blowing on my chest...disconnected small hose..

Great tips...thanks..
