I am very happy with my CPAP machine and actually can't sleep without it. But I need the right headgear. I have been using nasal pillows. i don't have a lot of choices with my company that provides them. I was having a terrible time with the last one they sent me (don't remember what kind) because of the forceful airflow that came from the nasal pillow. It blew on me constantly and woke me up. It also blew in my eyes giving me what the optometrist called CPAP eye.
I found a headgear online- ResMed AirFit P10 nasal pillows mask. I was so excited and thought I found the magic. The airflow out of the nasal pillow was quiet and diffused and didn't bother me at all. The problem is with the strapping. It is a one size fits all, and one size does not fit all. It's just too big for me. I even got the pink female one thinking it might be smaller and use a petite nasal pillow. I ended up taking a few tucks in the straps to tighten it a bit, but I found that the straps just stretch over time and the thing gets bigger and bigger and that causes leaks. The strapping doesn't work for me, but the nasal pillow is great. I had to pay out of pocket for this and it cost almost 90$. Now, it's just not working.
Is there any headgear that has the great nasal pillow vent the ResMed AirFit P10 nasal pillows mask has, but has adjustable straps? I can't afford a lot of trial and error on this, but I am now sleepless in San Diego again.

Re: nasal pillow mask
Not any that I'm aware of, other than the Pilairo Q. But I haven't used that one yet, so I can't give you any information about it.
However, when the straps get too long on the AirFit P10, just get them thoroughly wet in warm water, and let them dry. That brings them back to their original size. You'll find that information with ResMed fitting information for this mask, it isn't a trick that I invented that might or might work. It will work *smile*.
I hope that this helps.
By the way, the straps/headgear on the AirFit P10 doesn't work for me either (for a different reason), so I've been using the Swift FX. Doesn't have the diffused vent and it's heavier, but I'd call it second best from my experience. And the headgear is adjustable! That's what makes it work for me, adjustable headgear. Been using it for over 3 years now, with occasional side trips into new masks as they come out *smile*. But, so far, I've always come back to the Swift FX.

Re: nasal pillow mask
I use the p10 and when the strap gets too long I pinch up 1/4 inch on each side and staple it. Works like a charmBeverly K wrote:I am very happy with my CPAP machine and actually can't sleep without it. But I need the right headgear.
