Oxygen and the Climate Line Hose

Post by G550 » Fri Jun 26, 2015 5:22 pm

I use an Airsense 10 Autoset, with the Climate Line hose. I've just been prescribed O2 and am very happy with it. But the adapter that the DME who delivered my oxygen concentrator gave me simply doesn't work properly with the Airsense 10 OR the Climate Line hose. Is there an adapter that works properly?

Are you using the adapter between the blower and the Climateline hose?
If so, that won't work properly. The adapter should be placed between the hose and the mask. That position will retain the functionality of the hose. If it is placed properly, can you describe the problems you are having?

This is the adapter I use:
O2 Adapter

You can purchase the special hose made by ResMed that has the O2 adapter built-in but that's lots more dollars.

Remember to use the bubbler at the oxygen concentrator to keep the humidity level up to meet your needs.

that's generally not advised, besides, 2lpm of extra air introduced into the 20-50lpm or more that the cpap is already pushing is a pretty small percentage.

unless you're just REALLY desperate for moisture, the extra pain in the rear of properly santizing the bubbler probably isn't worth it. remember, any germs in the water in the bubbler can be introduced into the oxygen flow, since it's not a heated vapor humidifier like on the cpap.

I like the Resmed solution above.

Here is the one I use, but never between the machine and the heated hose.

Wow! Just wow! The help available on here is just stunning. Called my DME and asked if they had this hose available. They said sure, and its covered on my Medicare Advantage plan. They have Saturday morning hours and I can swing by and pick one up. It's not supposed to be this easy is it?

Thanks to all for the wonderful information.

Glad your DME is so supportive. The ResMed hose is the better solution.
