Does Anyone Have the C100 Travel Battery System?

Post by danjfoley » Wed Apr 22, 2015 6:40 pm

I just pulled the trigger and ordered a C100 Battery System. I'm confident that it works, but I have some questions regard prolonging the life.

Using it on the train / traveling

First of all it says you can plug it (charge it) and plug your cpap into the c100, and it will act like a usp system, switching over to batter when the power goes out. That seems like the best way for me to use it when I travel on the train. The train has power outlets, but they frequent turn off. However the manual says doing do reduces the life span of the unit. So might I be better just charging it all the way and using it on battery power all night long?

Using it when the power goes out at night

I figure when this happens (as it happens very rarely) I just grab the unit plug it into my cpap and go back to sleep. The unit would need to be charged in order for that to work? So how often should I charge it to make sure it's ready for a power outage? Maybe once a month? But doesn't charging it reduce it's lifetime? (Ever time I charge it that's one less charge I'm going to get out of it?)

I think i read that it can do about 500 full charges during it's lifetime. That should last me a good 10 years i'd home.

Am i wrong? Am i right? Any users have pointers on the best way to use it to make sure it last a good long while?

Everything you said is correct, I'd just use the battery on the train and not try to use it as a power backup.

My c-100 discharges slowly sitting around so I top it off about once a month. I think after about a month it may be down by 15 percent or so.

You are on the right track, and you've probably already read that to get the most time out of the battery charge using your cpap run the cpap with the humidifier set to off and don't use a heated hose to get the most time.

It should provide a good long service life like you said, keep it topped up when not in use.
