New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
I got a 2nd Airsense 10 yesterday, and it came with a new larger bag! First machine I paid cash for as my old S8 Autoset II died while travelling, it was my only option for a quick replacement. Second one came from American HomePatient - insurance is covering this one. The one from American HomePatient came with a new style bag (on left in the picture) - it has a new zippered compartment at the top of the picture for your hose, freeing space in the bottom compartment for your mask. The first machine came with the bag on the right - which looks like the pictures on cpap.com for the included bag with the AirSense 10.

Nice alternative! --especially if your mask is bulky.
I actually like the smaller case, and it just occurred to me that I could stuff my P10 into the tank cavity.

It would be nice if there weren't separate bag compartments for the machine and the humidifier tank. I'd like to store the machine and humidifier tank assembled; that'd buy some more space inside the bag.chunkyfrog wrote:I actually like the smaller case, and it just occurred to me that I could stuff my P10 into the tank cavity.
I like the bigger bag as I always travel with an extension cord.. too many hotel rooms don't have a free outlet next to the bed.

my guess is that they do that for the same reason the s9 has you take the machine apart, to avoid any jostling and knocking from stressing the join, you wouldn't like it if you got to your destination and the tank didn't fit in properly anymore.davecpap wrote:It would be nice if there weren't separate bag compartments for the machine and the humidifier tank. I was in the process of buying a machine, and found that the seller had bundled it up, with water in the tank, shoved it in her closet, then wagged it over to starbucks...chunkyfrog wrote:And to help you with that "empty the tank" thingie.
fortunately, not a lot of water, but, still ....

Re: New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
I'm a fan of the smaller bag for traveling as well. I can get everything in it including my mask and the travel version of the hose management thingie *smile*. And a spare nasal pillow. Having a small mask really does help. If I had a larger mask, the larger bag would be my choice, though.
As far as traveling with the humidifier joined onto the cpap part, I wouldn't do that anyways. That plastic connection mechanism just doesn't strike me as durable enough to take the leverage that it would get as things get shifted around. Fine sitting on a table or on the floor, though *smile*. I'm happy to take the units apart, doesn't take any time for me to do that.

I got my A10 two months ago. It had the larger case with separate pockets for the hose and the mask. I use it for automobile travel. For an airplane, I just put the A10 in a gallon zip lock bag, coil the hose and my P10 nasal pillow mask in another gallon zip lock bag, and toss them in my roll-aboard. I was flying an ERJ-145 this week and put everything in a canvas bag that would fit in the tiny overhead.

Re: New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
Why would anyone do this? I mean its somewhat nice not to have to carry two bags but honestly the airlines legally must allow you to carry-on or check a cpap in its regular case without charging you for it, and also without counting the cpap bag against your regular carry-on baggage allowance. (i.e. you get to bring both for free). I would much prefer to put clothing and other items in my one carry-on bag versus less clothes plus a cpap stuffed inside a plastic bag. Airlines are so horrible nowadays, the one carry-on bag (of for Spirit, the one underseat tiny bag) allowance is barely manageable. I couldn't imagine adding a cpap and junk into the same suitcase, taking up most of the room.GeoffD wrote:I got my A10 two months ago. The new ResMed Air series travel bags are a huge improvement with the separate, designated compartments, helpful icons, and room for a FFM, plus added outer zippered storage pockets and nice fabrics (like a laptop bag). Kudos to Resmed on this new design. My PR System One bag is primitive, cramped, thinly padded and confusing by comparison.

the s9 bags have always been just as good. thick padding, separate compartments, etc.hyperlexis wrote:The new ResMed Air series travel bags are a huge improvement with the separate, designated compartments, helpful icons, and room for a FFM, plus added outer zippered storage pockets and nice fabrics (like a laptop bag). Well the S9 is old and is now being replaced by the Air 10 series, so....palerider wrote:the s9 bags have always been just as good. thick padding, separate compartments, etc.hyperlexis wrote:The new ResMed Air series travel bags are a huge improvement with the separate, designated compartments, helpful icons, and room for a FFM, plus added outer zippered storage pockets and nice fabrics (like a laptop bag). The PR comes with its own standard custom travel bag. Just not nearly as good as the new Resmed Air travel bag design. I don't believe anyone makes an aftermarket custom fit travel bag for the PR, aside from PR itself.
Re: New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
the point, I believe, it's no surprise that remsed ships a good travel bag with their machine, they've been doing it for the years of the s9 I haven't seen the s8 bag, so I don't know if they were shipping good bags back then too.hyperlexis wrote:Well the S9 is old and is now being replaced by the Air 10 series, so....

the pr does not come with a travel bag, it comes with a crap carry bag, some of which are just canvas, and some have just enough padding on the sides to keep it from collapsing under it's own weight. (I've seen both).
to get a travel bag for the respirs, with actual padding and compartments, you have to buy one: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... fcase.html

Re: New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
I personally am not a big fan of the AirSense 10 bag The bag that came with my S8 was amazing - to me the A10 bag is a step down.
The S8 bag had tons of room - I would pack 2 masks, 2 tubes, extension cords, chin strap, PapCap - lots of room for spares in case something broke while traveling. Part of this issue is that the S8 had an internal power supply, so it was very compact. The AirSense 10 and its power brick take up quite a lot more room.
I liked the larger S8 bag since it didn't count against my carry-on, I always brought my separate CPAP bag to free up room in my carry-on for clothes, etc.
I never owned an S9, so I don't know what the S9 bag is like.
S8 bag picture: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/cpap-s ... l-bag.html
Enough room in the main compartment for CPAP, humidifier, hose, mask, power cord. In the front compartment - PapCap, Chin Strap, Spare tube, Spare Mask! Plus room for filters, spare cushions, etc - sweet!
