New CPAP user from Texas---I have a lot to learn!

Post by HoustonMedic08 » Thu Apr 02, 2015 10:04 pm

Greeting...this forum was hugely helpful for me in navigating the perilous waters of selecting and purchasing my first CPAP machine. My first night on CPAP was incredible...I had no idea how bad off I was before.

I'm a paramedic clinical manager/paramedic educator by trade and as my title says, I'm from the great state of Texas. I've had plenty of questions answered using the search box and I look forward to finding more answers here.

My current "research areas" revolve around camping and travel with my machine and diagnosis; I do love camping and would love a capable battery supply setup. I also travel quite a bit and I really hate lugging around tons of luggage. I'm not very confident in the padded case my machine came in and will probably end up with a pelican case (I use these quite a bit for other pieces of important gear, and cost isn't a huge concern for me with this) for my machine/kit. I will be searching for these topics, but if you have any favorite threads, links, or resources on this you can share with me, I'd be hugely grateful.

The stock PR bags kinda suck. I went on CPAP.com and got the combo briefcase/CPAP bag. Decently sturdy with a good amount of room for a laptop or paperwork besides...and that part can zip off. 2 in 1 is a good thing.
Turns out, the plain ResMed bags are a bit nicer, not as bulky.
