stuffy nose

Post by NewToBiPap » Thu Mar 19, 2015 8:13 pm

Unfortunately while taking care of my daughter I ended up catching her cold. My sinuses are backed up and it's really hard to wear the mask to breathe correctly. Anyone overcome this issue before? I'm addicted to the sleep I get while using this machine and I can only imagine how good it is when you need your rest.

Use a nasal rinse like OTC Neilmed. Then go to bed and your humidified air may keep you clear. It works for me...hopefully it will for you too.

I have the same thing this week and the only time i can breathe with my mouth closed is with the cpap. I am tempted during the day to mask up. I think the humidity helps and it doesn't work if I lie on my back so I think on either side the sinus will drain and with the added moisture I have been sleeping great. I also use the sinus rinse but that didn't make much difference for long.

I feel your pain. I might have to raise the humidity and sleep with an extra pillow.

Some people need less humidity - it can congest you, feel like a cold.
